What are your thoughts on Berkey water filters. I am considering one for my family. We rent, and I don't want to permanently install or alter anything in the kitchen. Also, electricity is expensehive 😂 Another thing is my guilty pleasure of waffle making. I haven't seen any that fit your criteria (heck, I'd settle for finding an electrical waffle maker without a nonstick coating. Or even one that I can plop onto my induction cooker. 😢

this is probably one of the most mind boggling details about american culture. I want to take off my shoes any chance I get, its super uncomfortable and actually really bad for your feet orthopedically. also best way to get smelly feet... And it's super unhygienic. Why tf do people do this? This is barbarous... Edit: Come to realize, I even switch my street clothes to more comfortable sweatpants and sweatshirts immediatly upon entering my home. I don't want those yucky germs in my house...

I've always thought that you walk on some really dirty stuff outside, specifically maybe dog or cat waste. It really grosses me out to think of walking in my home with traces of feces and urine on shoes. I've never understood how others don't think of this

In Canada it is considered rude to not remove your shoes before you enter a house. apartment, condo,... You will get stopped and reminded immediately. This keeps dirt, mud, crime, insects,...from getting all over the floor, carpets, furniture,... Laundry detergents also contain carcinogens, cancer causing.

I am happy to report that very few of these products are in my life. I have always liked traditional housewares, so my pans are mostly cast iron, though I do have some Gotham Steel pans that are ceramic coated. I don't use any silicone or teflon style bakeware. I don't have any carpet & my floors are either concrete or unfinished pine. My walls are done in raw pine. Only my kitchen is sheetrocked & painted. I don't buy any modern furniture that is all synthetic products & glues. I like old real wood furniture. Our well is 360 feet deep from an aquifer that comes from deep in the Rocky Mountains. I don't take my shoes off because I am in & out frequently doing ranch chores, cutting firewood, etc., but there has never been ANY herbicides or pesticides used anywhere near our 160 acres of wild sagebrush prairie. The worst I'll track in is some horse & chicken poo & a little bacteria doesn't worry me. I don't use many cleaners & what I do use is pthalate free, mostly Dr. Bronner's hemp oil soaps & vinegar. I haven't had a new car since 1990, partly because it's a waste of money but also because that long lasting "new car smell" is toxic off-gassing. As are air fresheners. My one toxic product that I knowingly conceded to is my memory foam mattress because I have beat up my body so badly that it's the only thing I can get comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep on. I figured "pick your poison." Good luck on the detoxifying your home journey all. It's worth it!

What about distilling your drinking water?
@dryvonneburkart

Thank you for bringing up this important topic! Distilling your drinking water is a fantastic way to eliminate any potential harmful substances and make sure you're consuming clean and safe water. You can add minerals back into the water too!

@@dryvonneburkart No. Considering we have been living day after day oblivious with all these toxins, yet our bodies in its infinite glory find ways to keep us alive. Every day is a miracle. Namaste

It's good to learn but make changes as and when it's convenient for you and don't stress too much about it or the stress might kill us before the toxins😂.

You should have said ditch the microwave! And not you can put the ceramic in the microwave! Nail varnish and fake nails is another very toxic thing women do.

I’m currently looking for something that keeps my water hot while out with my baby so when I give him his milk is still warm I have a stainless steel water container but I know you say to avoid because of heavy metals any ideas of what I can use ? Thank you Dr Yvonne ❤❤❤

Thanks for watching! Great question. If the milk is in a separate bottle then the stainless steel should not be an issue, especially if it’s just a container to hold hot water. I’ve asked for hot water at restaurants to put my baby’s bottle in too.

Babies will drink cold milk if you really can't keep it warm. If they're hungry, they're not as fussy as you would imagine. Babies are more flexible in attitude than we think, also cold milk is less likely to grow bacteria if you're out and about for a while.
