Actually it was true I read in a mopar magazine that covered the event. The road was wet and the car fishtailed a lot. The owner was on set and nearly had a heart attack after that happened. He switched out a few front pieces, he was half expecting something would happen he said in an interview.

I grew up in Scotland and loved this show as a kid in the 80s - used to be on Saturday tea-time - I fell in love with The General (and Daisy, obviously) - there were no cars like that in the UK or anywhere in Europe, so to us that Old Charger was cooler and more exotic than any Lambo, Ferrari or Aston Martin.....still is.

You REALLY have to give the film crew an enormous amount of credit! They shot this whole commercial and managed not to get even just ONE CORNER of the giant Confederate flag on the roof in any shots whatsoever. Why cave to a bunch of crazy screaming weirdos!! Show the damn flag!!!!!!

The only crime with this commercial is that they traded the General for a Viper in the commercial. I think a Challenger would've been a more appropriate choice.

I agree. The flag was not "offensive" 20 years ago. Here is an interesting fact. Robert E. Lee did not own slaves. But Grant did. So by that logic, every Union statue should be torn down as well.
