Reminds me of a joke. Three cops were walking through the forest when they came upon a set of tracks. The first cop said "those are deer tracks." The second cop said "No, those are elk tracks." The third cop said "You're both wrong, those are moose tracks." The cops were still arguing when the train hit them.

@Penny Williams probably because when you saw the word “tracks” you thought of train tracks anyway seeing as how they said “this reminds me of a joke”. If it was told with no context the punchline would likely be more unexpected.

I had a similar incident with an officer pulling my friend and I over. We were train watching and this cop pulls out to ask us what we were doing out there. We tell him, "Watching trains, in fact there is one on the way according to the signals." He thought we were suspicious so he asked us to pull over on the dirt and then proceeds to park his car on the tracks. He let us go when his car was almost violently destroyed by the oncoming train less than 30 seconds away.

That's not how lawsuits work against police officers/departments. If victims get compensated, it WILL NOT come from the private bank accounts of the officers involved, but instead, it will come from tax dollars. You and I and millions of others, pay tax money to victims of crimes you and I, and millions of others, did not commit. That's the most messed up part of it all.
