I think it is a shame that people don't use rubber spatulas any more while cooking. My mom grew up in the war in Germany and hardly had food most days. She taught me to use a spatula every time to make sure every drop was used. Changing times though. I would add mozzarella to it too. Even used cottage cheese a few times. Yum.

Usually it’s just my dad and me so the pasta meal would be way too much for us but my sister and her family are coming for the summer. I think her girls will like that and I like the idea of a simple meal that can cook while we’re at the beach or the pool. After not cooking almost anything that wasn’t premade for close to 21 years I’m so inspired by your channel. I have been cooking almost every day since I’ve moved in to take care of my dad and I love it. I stopped cooking when I got pregnant with my youngest because uncooked meat made me ill just walking by it in the supermarket. It didn’t go away when I had the baby and seemed to get worse for awhile. I’m told I actually had such mineral deficiencies that it messed up my brain. About a year and a half ago I started taking supplements and it really helped. Now I’m spending most of my time in the kitchen. Thank you for sharing great simple recipes. My dad’s favorite is the pumpkin French toast.😊

Just have to share my favorite crockpot recipe with you, Bestie!...this is one of my first mastered meals as a brand new wife that couldn't cook a lick 😂. It is a dump and go- one medium onion sliced, two pounds of stew meat (or any beef cut-cut up--i.e. round steak, roast, fajita sliced 🤷 I've used it all...whatever was on clearance), dice up 4-6 large peeled potatoes, half a stick of butter, one small bottle of A-1 (Aldi brand is a great dupe and is around a dollar). I also add about half a bottle of water shaken well to get all the sauce out. Cook all day on low. Yummo, it is a long time favorite in my 🏠

In summer, my go-tos are my crockpot (2 qt), rice cooker (mini), air fryer (2.6 liter), toaster oven and (of course) the good ole microwave. As I am a widow, I only cook for myself and have to scale down larger recipes, as I get bored with the same food over and over (notable exceptions being box mac & cheese and spaghetti, which i can make in bulk and eat on for days until gone). Even in the winter, i rarely use my oven, as my toaster oven suffices for my meals. My stovetop use is minimal, as I only cook things that take a short time to cook and therefore don't heat up the room significantly (long cooking is relegated to the crockpot). I also have a 2 qt pressure cooker I need to start using... I so love your videos, as they remind me of the days with my husband and stepsons.

I also use a whole jar of sliced pepperocinis w/ all the juice. My family loves it. You can throw some creamer potatoes and baby carrots in there-- it comes out AMAZING.
