I hope the shop who was supposed to clean the heads steps up and covers the cost of the rebuild. If they don't you should file a claim with their insurance. They have liability insurance for this type of thing.

Have you considered doing some of the JDM Evo modifications? I know the USDM rear differential has the clutch packs in the wrong sequence from the factory. I was also going to suggest the OEM antilag, but realized you don't have the OEM exhaust manifold anymore. I am sure you can do an antilag with the Haltec ECU. 🔥🔥🔥

Best way to check inside a turbo is look at it with a blue light! Everything that is not to be in there will show up with blue light.

Getting the head and block acid dipped would be the way to in the future. I had the same failure when I got my valve cover powder coated and the shop didn't clean it thoroughly. We live and we learn.

Parts cost are cut and dry. Other cost in the engine rebuild is the labor cost. Devin in talented mechanic/technician so that cost is not mentioned. If this was done in outside shop I wonder what the labor cost would be? Thanks for sharing this experience with all of us Devin.

Some say that glass beads can imberd into aluminum and other soft metals. The vibrate out into the engine under vibration and heat cycling. Walnut shell blast media would be safer for soft internal metals.

Normally when you disassemble the parts of the turbocharger, you need to balance the rotor assy of the turbocharger. Because every rotation needs a perfect balance. Just share knowledge about the turbocharger if you need to use it again the turbocharger 😊😊😊
