I want to do the same but with a closed curve, what would the option be like?

Hi, I'm stucked when applying the Wire deformer portion. The cord polygon object just won't follow the curve even though I applied the deformer.

Hmm, there could be a few things that went wrong, but hard to tell. Maybe your project settings or the dynamics not activating? Maybe double check your geometry. Maybe try again with a simpler setup. Or feel free to send me your project file and I can take a look. Thanks!

Select the geo, then in channel box under INPUTS bump up the dropoff distance (to 20 or something) until it responds...

Hello thanks so much for this tutorial it helped me alot! im having a bit of a problem though, i needmultiple cables in my scene and wonder how to eazy multiply the first one i made? ctrl+d gets me a group where the cable doesnt seem dynamic at all i guess it has something to do with the nucleus but im not so sure since im a noob:)
@guymicciche1443 жыл бұрын
You can try Edit > Duplicate Special > Options Box and make sure Duplicate input connections is checked, and/or play with the other settings. It may or may not work. Because of the complexity of this setup though, you might want to create it a different way. I believe you should only need 1 Nucleus, but you can create all your wires and hair together. I think you only need 1 hair system, but you can use multiple curves. You will also need to manually create the constraints for all of them. I think that will be the issue when duplicating, because when you duplicate special, some of the new objects will be connected to the old constraints and system. I hope the best!

@@guymicciche144 Well i solved that one using alembics, but now i have to try and recreate thi from svcratch and iom actually having trouble following, i wish you didnt start the tutorial with lots of stuff allready connected in your scene, trying to figure out what is what seeing mesh named _None_353245234_ and controllers who are allready parents makes it a little hard to follow, im also experiencing trouble while moving my controllers, everytime my animation starts back at 0 the contrains jump back and gets loose from the control

For some reason my passive collider is not interacting with the wire. I have a computer mouse on a desk. The desk is a passive collider, but the wire keeps dropping below it. I have multiple passive colliders. The wire falls on top of the desk, some notebooks and other various office props. It just keeps falling through
@guymicciche1443 жыл бұрын
Hi! For that, please check that for your table, you are selecting nCloth > Create Passive Collider. Also check that your table mesh is positioned correctly. Bring it to the center of the world, zero out all transforms, then reposition. You could also try to check the nRigidShape on your table, turn the solver display to Collision Thickness and check if it's showing thickness. You might want to adjust. If it's not working, it may be because you have multiple nucleus nodes. So when applying the Passive Collider to your table, you might try nCloth > Create Passive Collider > Option box, then make sure you apply this to work with the solver node that is attached to your hair system. So in this example, it would be nucleus1. If all else fails, I'd be happy to look at your scene. Dropbox link would be fine.

Hello! Thank you for this tutorial! I am having trouble at the wire deformer part. The output curve's dynamics work correctly and look good, but then when I apply the wire deformer to the cable geometry, the dynamics act completely different. The wire now stretches infinitely and won't stop. Do you know what might be wrong?
@guymicciche1442 жыл бұрын
Please check your Stretch Resistance, under Dynamic Properties in the hairSystemShape1 node. Increase it until it resists stretching according to your needs.

Also check you haven't accidently changed another attribute.
