Dynamic Muscle up tutorial with 4 easy steps. Showing you the technique on how to do muscle ups the easiest way. This kind of muscle up is called freestyle muscle up or dynamic muscle up in calisthenics freestyle & Street workout, but also kip muscle up / gymnastic muscle up.
It’s important if you want to get better flow when doing Calisthenics Freestyle and Street workout, make tricks easier for yourself.
No particular strength is needed to be able to do this move. It’s a lot of technique and kicking the legs at the right time.

This tutorial will explain how you can learn it pretty fast with 4 easy steps and add this to your Calisthenics Freestyle. I always suggest building the strength to do a clean muscle up as well. Being able to do a clean muscle up will make moves easier to do because of the strength you have and will help you with your static strength too.
Remember to ALWAYS warm up before doing any freestyle training or any training at all. Most of the injuries in street workout are from not warming up enough, warm up your shoulder, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles properly.
This will help you prevent unnecessary injuries to the joints and ligaments that you don’t want to get.

Im always bending my arms, I don’t know how to stop… also I think my kick up is weak or something. I’ve been working on this for some weeks now. It’s my big goal!! The good news is I just learned the forward roll and I’m really happy about it :)

Is this the same movement that CrossFit calls the "glide kip?" I think I remember a CrossFit-specific rule that feet could not go over the bar. Great video as always!

For this freestyle muscle up you dont need any strenght at all, you could do this without being able to do a pull up

I am still struggling with this movement. I dont know what I am doing wrong, can do the strict MU, but not even close to dynamic. Dont know what to do. I have been trainning it for about 5 months :( Btw, GREAT CHANNEL!

Same boat bro, have you found anything that helps? I feel like I keep bending my arms and can’t get past that. My legs get stuck at the top and I lose all momentum. I can rep out strict muscle ups but this feels impossible.

Literally after writing that comment I got it, watch the first example (around 55 seconds in) at 0.25x speed, jump into the bar and come into it with that “C” like body position and really focus on flinging yourself over with your kick instead of pulling up like on a strict muscle up.

The freestyle muscle up has it's place. I'm not as adverse to it like I used to be but I personally didn't start doing tricks until I could do strict muscle ups. Also I could do strict muscle ups and tricks at the same time. If you're strong you can do this too. You don't have to kip to do tricks. All that matters is using momentum at the top of the first muscle up and on the way down. A little swing is all you need. For a man it's embarrassing to do all these tricks but then not be able to do a proper muscle up. This is exercising after all. It's not about showing off.

Yeah that could be a rule for you and people that you teach. Not a bad one. Dynamic muscle up that used momentum and legs to get yourself up is to get yourself from the bottom to the top without wasting energy. I understand where you are coming from, but for some they want to learn this skill to be able to add the flow into their freestyle. And I don't agree at all that it's embarrassing to not do a muscle up and all this tricks... People prefer different stuff

@@DanielFlefil I meant that men that can do tricks but not a proper muscle up. I trained with someone like this before. They could do handstands on the p-bars and 360 on the high bar but weren't strong enough to do even one muscle up without kipping. It surprised me because I was like how can you do all those moves but not the proper basic exercise? I have great respect for gymnasts and gymnastics. I grew up watching it. I also grew up doing calisthenics (since 1999). It's important to have a good foundation in the basics. You're also less likely to get hurt. Some of the tricks look cool but are dangerous. I've seen videos of people doing flips and stuff on the bar and miss and get hurt. I've done 360s and fell and almost hit another bar behind me. I do respect that you put safety first in your tutorials. That's very good. I just feel like many people skip the basics and go straight for tricks. That's all. Anyway have a good day.
