Hey @VMPPerformance. What are the chances of you guys being more awesome than you already are and sending a fellow 3.5 upgraded ecoboost some of your custom tunes ? Something for 93 octane with some good transmission shift add on possibly...I would just love to try out your MAP for the ecoboost.. Always enjoying your content have a good one

I have a 20 Whipple 5.0 short box single cab now, but prior to this truck I had a 14 3.5 EB SuperCrew making mid 400’s and I put about 80k miles on it as a full on work truck with no real issues. I did a water pump around 70k due to a leak, tires/brakes/fluids of course, but nothing else to the engine except colder plugs than OEM and bolt ons. I did have issues with carbon build up; even the dual fuel system doesnT clean the ports as well as old school standard port injection but I just added some routine cleaning to my maintenance schedule and she never missed a beat. When I traded it in on this truck it was just starting to get a little bit of wastegate noise too but it still seemed to hold boost fine as I didn’t see any drops on the data fed out to my tuner.

How safe are these tunes? Can you drive them daily? How's the MPG affected?

Is this a performance tune or is it still an adaptive tune?
@goodnoughperformance4 жыл бұрын
In what way do you mean "is this a performance tune" vs "an adaptive tune"?
@cfltitan4 жыл бұрын
Some tuners like 5 star and brew city boost have tunes that read the octane level and self adjust. They generate make as little less power than a custom tune made for a specific octane but are a nice all around tune that you can put whatever grade gas you want in and drive it.
@markim50876 күн бұрын
Yeah cool, but it would be much better for the customer to see the tunes over lapping,otherwise it’s just all bla bla..I say that because I got a tune on a gen1 with stock turbos ,and a dyno tune ,and it made basically the same…it made 365 420 on a can tune, and it made 415/460rwhp rwtq on a 2014 gen 1..that’s on 93 pump gas without any meth ..it’s made 420/470 on a meth tune..with tiny turbos and a inter cooler ,and cold side tubes colder plugs ,with bigger turbos it’s made 550/620rwhp on yes 93 with a gen1 with more in the tank ,I’ve just not gotten around to installing studs yet..it could make closer to 650 /700 with studs ,as I’ve put 100k into the truck ,Yet I don’t run it at that level as it’s only got 25k miles on it ,and I want it to last so I dial it down to 475/500 with the boost coming on a little later ,and less timing , we installed a complete custom aftermarket frame,suspension, and removed about 1000lbs going to a shorted rear end by 6 inches on each side, removed the strut suspension, the frame can be lowered to the ground ,all the factory braking system, installed 6 piston calipers and the largest rotors wilwood makes, 15 inch rotors with 22inch rims..most of the truck was built by that shop with that tv show Texas metal..I’ve still got the first set of pads as I put the truck together when it was brand new, we stripped a brand new f150 with 20 miles on it directly shipped from the factory..while it was a loaded truck, I removed most of the upgrades underneath the cab , while keeping the interior,and it’s heated cooled seats ,and soft leather,and whatever that super soft material is called..we added a 7k watt rms stereo system ,with a computer tuned focal system..so it’s got all the creature comforts, I enjoy watching movies in the truck as much or more than I do driving it, lol..😂 anyway I know this is a old post, but it’s mint still, and I’m disabled and couldn’t ever race it, but it will smoke mustangs ,and even some corvettes up to about 140 mph, then it’s a brick, 😂 it’s had a bunch of updates since it went to Texas metal, they had used it for their truck shows, in their main event tent..it’s stored in a climate controlledcontrolled garage at the house, and only driven about 25 miles a month in good weather…anyway I’m going to be wanting to step up to a 5.0 liter older SuperCab F150 4x4 with low miles ,and either all stock loaded ,or with a fully built motor,with either twin turbos, like 67/77’s or a 2.9 or larger blower whipple ,with 650 with a dial a boost up to 1000 hp ,or 850-1000 hp with a whipple..I say an older truck because I want a super cab, not a single cab, or a four door crew cab..either doesn’t have enough room for me to transfer from my wheelchair….so if your in the market for a sweet fx2 black loaded with lost of aftermarket goodies , let’s trade..
@joe10714 жыл бұрын
Afe is stock on f150?
@VMPPerformanceTV4 жыл бұрын
No, but there isn't a tune required for intakes on F-150 due to the fact they are speed density. When we reference stock in the title and through this video, we are only referring to the tune calibration. Stock tune, versus the preloaded tune in the handheld device, versus a custom calibration.
@traekiser2134 жыл бұрын
Makes me mad that a tune will give these trucks that much mo POWah. But I will say this..at least my 2019 rcsb 5.0 sounds like a proper truck. This thing sounds like a high powered vacuum cleaner lol

Thought the same thing when I just test drove a 2020 3.5 Ecoboost and a 5.0... coming from all V8s in the past I had to go with the 3.5, the driving experience between the 2 test drives was night and day. The 3.5 was so much more fun than the 5.0. Don't really care much about the sound, would rather have fun driving then to sit there and justify my purchase for sound.
@ronniegibson85774 жыл бұрын
@@blackhemi04 i did the exact same thing but i went with the 5.0. I know if the 5.0 had the same 3.55s or 3.73s it will completely change the 5.0. They love rpms

@@ronniegibson8577 yeah mine is rolling with the 3.55s. Its crazy I use to get 15 mpg mixed city/hwy in my 12 Ram Hemi, now I get 20-22 mpg... never thought I would see the day. Its hard to believe but may have to make a video. If you put it in cruise control at 65 you get over 25mpg, insane. Trucks have come a long way.
