Yes- The only liquid available locally to me is $14.00 a bottle for about 32-40 ounces. The only difference between liquid and bar is they add the water for you. So yes you can use it, but the cost is going to cancel any benefit of doing the homemade version.

Just because recipes exist, especially on YT, doesn’t mean they are advisable to use. You say washing soda gives your concoction ‘a boost’. What does giving it ‘a boost’ mean? How does it ‘boost’?
@mommymilestones
@mommymilestones 5 жыл бұрын
Washing soda has long been used to soften hard water. It also improves the efficiency of your machine and reduces the risk of expensive repair bills resulting from lime scale build-up when using in a dishwasher or clothes washing machine. Its high alkaline properties make this simple white powder a dynamo at removing grease and other tough stains, especially when treated early. I sprinkle some directly on grease stains on clothes right before washing to pull out the stain and red/orange sauce stains in plastic dishes. Grease and burned on food comes right off! Best of all it is natural. It is derived from heating regular baking soda and does not irritate sensitive skin.
@FrankGutowski-ls8jt
@FrankGutowski-ls8jt 5 жыл бұрын
Mommymilestones If you think washing soda removes, ie, dissolves, grease, make a solution and add an oil or Vaseline or Crisco. Shake. Observe that none dissolves. It’s not a strong enough base to saponify and it’s not a surfactant. As far as functioning as a water softener and base, yes, washing soda can serve both functions in various cleaners.

I do not add lye or keep it in my house with children. Does Kirk's use any lye in castile soap? Kirk's soap contains no free lye or lye residues in the final product, but lye is used to convert coconut oil into soap. All traces of residual lye are fully neutralized in our soap-making process.
