@waltwins4 жыл бұрын
Haha! Gotta say, it is deceptively easy - I can’t believe it took me so long to finally create my own sausage gravy! But yes, you could mess it up - too much flour could make it really dry and clumpy, while not enough could leave it soupy - it’s also one that you can make specific to your liking, and therefore a popular easy cook! Good luck man!🤙🤙

Great vid guys! I'm a new follower and new Blackstone Griddle owner! Really digging your channel. I think Adam mentions in your video that Bret has a 22" Blackstone. I got one a couple of months ago and really love it! Over the Independence Day weekend my wife and I had friends over as we always do for my smoked ribs. I use an offset stick burner and have become pretty well known for my sauce and fantastic ribs - lest I digress, the showcase of the day were the two dozen buffalo style wings on my Blackstone :) There's a few recipes on YT (including Nate's of course!) that I used for my devious plan!!! WOW! was the word around the table! So ya, I know this was a Sausage and Gravy show, but when you mentioned the 22 at the end I just had to comment since I too am a proud owner of a Blackstone 22"!! AND I LOVE IT! Really loving your channel and content, thanks for all you guys do to share your recipes and techniques - they're so helpful for noobs like me in the griddle world :) ---------------- oh heck, now I wish I had found you guys last week, just see you did wings on 06-10-2020....well hey this is another excuse to make some more wings!!!

I just started looking at this griddle for when we receive our new camper and came across your page. Y’all make it look easy to the point I would actually enjoy cooking for a change. Only thing I found hard to see was the different heat levels as you were going on. Other than that, great videos. I’ll definitely be trying this with our friends.
@waltwins3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! We have been trying harder to explain where we are with the heat. It's hard to give exact temps, because we've learned that different griddles have different "hot" zones, and when explaining exact temperatures, it just gets frustrating, mostly for the one watching. We try to explain instead where we are with the dial. The more you cook the more you become very comfortable with controlling the heat. The food is always amazing though! Take care and let us know if you have any questions! :D
@adambroussard29873 жыл бұрын
@@waltwins You could always get a little infrared temperature gun. That way you can give specific temps if you want as well as general dial settings. Also, idk if you have a video about hot spots already, but that would be great to make if you haven’t. I hadn’t thought about hot spots until you mentioned it in the video. Great tip to look for!

I love making biscuits and gravy never have on my blackstone yet but I use seasoned flour instead of salt and pepper the flour is already perfect
@waltwins4 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Someone else talked about seasoned flour - totally going to use it for next time! The rest of the flavor will come from the sausage - excellent suggestion!

@@waltwins my family also loves bacon gravy occasionally. It's a little more bland I think but soooo delicious I make my rue with the grease not butter..... totally healthy!

Yes sir! We purposefully did this one on the BS surface as a “how to” vid - we’ll have more showing the air fryer in action! We use the drawers almost daily - they’re a game changer!💪💪

@@waltwins its a really good "how to" for sure. i would have never thought you could cook a frozen biscuit on a blackstone and have it come out this well. definitely great demo of how to cook those on the surface.

You guys get better and better. Yes, you must put black pepper in your gravy. My dad would say all you were missing is the cantaloupe.
@waltwins4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, we LOVE a side of cantaloupe! It’s funny, someone explained that with sausage gravy, unlike country gravy, you don’t need pepper, but you are for sure correct. We did it a couple of weeks ago without, and it was bland

One other question, sorry. I have the blackstone burger kit with the press to smash the burgers. When I used for the first time the burgers stuck to it the tool. Do i grease the bottom of the smash tool before I use it? Also I noticed when ya'll did smash burgers you one of you had a non metal handle. Where could I purchase one of those? Thanks again.
@waltwins4 жыл бұрын
Kevin Mi Vida Loca hey man! We also purchased the xl press at Walmart, although we have a small wooden handled one we’ve used as well, which was purchased at Lowe’s. I do put a small amount of oil on the press itself which helps - if you still find you are sticking, use parchment paper - we have an earlier Smashburger vid that we use the parchment paper for, works perfectly to keep from sticking. Good luck!🤙🤙
