I ordered this from Amazon and I got both the front and back camera for my Maverick. OMG was it so easy to install and I have used it for the last two months and LOVE it 👍👍well worth while the money I have shown it my friends who also bought mavericks. It absolutely does work well.

It’s been working great, if I had to do it over I would got the camera with the rear camera. I thought I could just add it later, but it’s a different camera. Thanks have a great day.

Wow, you made this look really easy. I’m definitely gonna look into buying this. I really needed a simple solution and all the cameras I felt I would have to split wires and to get power and it’s a stupid stuff. This is nice. I just hope that the report that I see that screws with your remote start is not correct.

So I have had it for 2 weeks and it’s been great, no battery issues. I don’t see how it would affect your remote start. All you have to do it not tuck in the wire for a few days and see if it does affect your remote start. If alls good then lo then tuck in the wire. Or return it. Great video. Very helpful. I bought this with the rear camera option. Super easy to install (with your help). The only caution with this camera I have is that, because I live in NYC and don’t drive every day, by plugging this into the diagnostic port, it makes my hybrid Maverick go into battery saver mode after a couple days of not driving. (It also is a bit of a bummer that you cannot view a live feed from your app while away from the vehicle, but I knew that pre-purchase.) Love your videos!

Probably does, I also believe that ford added the cheapest 12 volt battery possible to the Maverick. So many people have deep sleep issues, even without cameras. I have been lucky so far. When my Maverick turns 3 years old I’m buying the biggest, most powerful AGM battery that will fit under the rear seat. I giving it to my 16 year old son in a year and don’t want him to have any battery issues that I will have to fix. 😀

I like this option, but the rear view mirror on my 23 Mav was vision limiting, this would create a larger blind spot. I actually placed mirror extenders on the rear view mirror to get it up and out of my line of sight. This would be a great choice for someone shorter.

I’m only 5’7” and the mirror bugs me also. When I picked up my truck the mirror shaft was angled downward and I could not see anything. So what I did was angle up my mirror rod so the mirror now almost touches the plastic cover I removed in the video. It’s still low but much more livable now. I install the camera mainly because my sine will get his driver license in December and I want video proof of his driving or god forbid he gets into an accident.

Fred thanks for another great video. On the Maverick forum guys are getting Kia mirrors from the junk yard that have HomeLink and auto dim for night. Lets see you install one of those. I can get you the part number if you need it.

Yes, I’ve been trying for a year to buy a Kia mirror. I have ordered them twice and both time they have been “ out of stock”. If you know of a place or a part #, please pass it along. I definitely want to add the Home link mirror. Thanks

Great tutorial, thanks for sharing. Can you download video through your camera app? EG: did you have to take the SD card out to upload your video to KZbin?

I do not not remove the SD card. This is how I do it, first I used my iPhone and did all the editing on that. Then I bought a DJI Osmo pocket 3 combo pack. It came with the microphone. The osmo 3 follows you by itself. So I now shoot the video, the camera wirelessly connects to the DJI Mimo app on my iPad then I down load the video to my iPad. Once down loaded the camera is done and I edit and upload the video to KZbin from my iPad. Hope this helped, any questions please ask.

I agree, so this is what I can tell you so far. The video quality is much better, especially at night than my thinkware Ford one in my Bronco. It is 4K where the Bronco one is 1089p. It will take a few minutes for the app and the camera to sinc for the first time then its connects easy The app is much easier to use then the thinkware one. The he most important is that my Maverick has never had a battery issue and this camera has not placed the Maverick in @deep sleep mode.” The longest I have left the Maverick without driving was 2 days. I,m thinking about buying this dashcam for hubby for xmas. Does it also come with a rearview dashcam and do you have an installation video for it also. We live in Tennessee, where you cannot back into a parking space, so the rear-end is more vulnerable. Does this void the warranty on the 2024 Maverick Lariat?

Hi, yes they also make one With the rear view camera.( link below ) I did install one on my Bronco but not on the Maverick. All you will need to do is attach the camera to the inside of the rear glass and run the wire. I would run the wire on the passenger side so I don’t have double wires on the drivers side. If you have enough wire on would run the wire all the way down beside the lower seat trim then up behind the rear seat back. Good luck, let me know how you make out.
