My daughter is allergic to sugar and I find keto recipes are about the only thing she can eat, however, it is very very expensive. This means no prepackaged anything. Even the packages that say they have no sugar will have things like corn syrup in it. Even seasoning spices have sugar in it (especially the club house taco mix). So thank you for the budget friendly keto ideas.

Its only expensive if you make it that way! Meat and veggies without all the junk in the middle of the store is sooooo much less to have to buy!

We have a corgi that will literally worship whoever is in the kitchen. If he see’s me or my fiancé even heading that direction, “Ave Maria” starts playing in his little doggy brain and he comes clickety clacking into the kitchen. On the bright side, the kitchen floor does get cleaned regularly.

If you give your squash a stab with a knife and stick it into your microwave for about 12 minutes let is cool, it is easy to slice and remove the seeds, at this point its ready to eat, if you like it a little brown put it into the oven for a little bit.

As a kid my mom would give us “peanut butter spoons” for snacks or for dessert, but I remember taking full jars and just going to town. I’ve always loved peanut butter. To this day I love a spoonful of peanut butter as a snack. I try to be a bit more creative and dunk apple or banana in it but really all I want is the jar and a spoon haha.

On cutting onions: I sometimes prep a kilo or two of onions, so I really have tested tricks to avoid crying. The best one is ventilation - open up windows and set a fan blowing across the cutting board. When you have already started crying, what I do is I wash my hands, wash my face and blow my nose. That seems to lead to a faster recovery. On a long cutting session, I end up using both. I hope it helps.

Keep your onions in the fridge until you're ready to cut them and also don't cut off the root end! That is what makes you cry. Just do one clean slice through the middle(cutting through both ends of the onion) and keep the root end intact while you chop from the other side. I promise you'll see a huge difference.

I grew tomatoes and peppers from seeds I saved from store bought produce (regular, not organic produce) and they turned out great. Save the seeds from your tomatoes, dry them out on a paper towel and then put the paper towel in an envelope (the seeds will be stuck to it) and you will have seeds for next year.
