That truly has beautiful grain! Beautiful bowl! I’ve been watching your videos for more years than I can remember and I’ve learned a ton! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was wondering if you would consider a shop tour video. I think a shop tour might give some of us ideas on how to set up a shop or rearrange a shop. Thank you for the consideration. O. Frank

Preparation and Shaping (01:20-03:50): Kent chisels away loose bark for a secure connection on the lathe and demonstrates shaping the bowl’s exterior, emphasizing the importance of balancing the wings and maintaining the integrity of the bark.

The way my turnings are going at the moment, I'd be happy to just not end up with sawdust. Your skill set is amazing.

Thank you very much, Mark! However, you can do it too. Remember; persistent, patient practice will yield the bowls you imagine creating! Happy Turning!

Great tutorial, Kent. Was the wood dry when you turned this bowl? I appreciate the inspiration.
@TurnAWoodBowl3 ай бұрын
Thanks Roy! The moisture content was low, but this species is very dense and is ideal for once-turned pieces like this. It moves very little after turning, and with the organic shape, any movement is not perceivable. Happy Turning! Kent

I like it. I did something similar recently, but I didn't go with the three-foot look. I wish I had. This really gives a different look to the beautiful grain pattern. Thanks for the lesson Kent. Lowell

Hi Kent, very nice bowl!! Hey, in many of your videos, there is a net type curtain in the background. I am assuming it is to catch chips. Does it work? Did you make it or can it be purchased?

😮Kudos for showing how to safely add feet to a bowl. But please be clear with your viewers on when you are using a “jam” chuck vs a “pressure” chuck. They are very different chucking methods, and require different techniques for use. Best if the terms are not confusing to new turners.
