Ingredients:
1 cup (90g) Rolled oats
3 cups (375g) All-purpose/Bread flour
1/4 cup (80g) Maple syrup
1 1/3 cups (320ml) Boiling water
1¼ teaspoons Instant dry yeast
1½ teaspoons Salt
2 tablespoons (30g) Melted butter
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, or in the bowl of an electric mixer combine boiling water, oats, maple syrup, butter and salt. Mix and let cool slightly.
2. Add flour, yeast and stir until dough forms. Knead the dough for 7-8 minutes.
3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
4. Gently deflate the dough, shape it into a log. Place the log in a lightly greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Cover the pan, let rise for about 1 hour or it's crowned about 1-inch over the rim of the pan.
5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
6. Brush with water and sprinkle some rolled oats on top of the loaf. Bake for 40-45 minutes. If the bread appears to be browning too quickly, cover with aluminum foil for the rest of baking.
7. Let cool completely before cutting.

I made it today. It tasted and looked great thanks a lot. Just a little tip so yall don’t do the same mistake i did; make sure the oatmeal is completely cool before adding the flour and the yeast so you don’t kill the yeast by the heat.

This past year I've started using non mass produced maple syrup. This recipe thrills me for so many reasons, including the maple syrup in the recipe. Tomorrow I'll bake this bread. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the recipe. Just finished making this bread and it came out perfect. What a nice tasting bread. I spayed the top with water before putting on the oats and they stayed on. I also used maple syrup and honey. This is a keeper.

Made this bread this week. It came out great and I will definitly be making it again. Used the same measurement of brown sugar instead of the maple syrup. The recipe made two great size loaves of bread.

Looks awesome. But I think it will be healthier if we use wholewheat or oat flour instead of all-purpose white flour.

Did you know wheat flour is supporting inflamation kn hhe human body. Oat flour mixed with spelt flour is a great option.😊

Wanted a whole grain bread and found this video. I did it, followed instructions except that i used half water, half milk instead of water only, also added sugary and honey water instead of maple. The result was Fabulous!! Perfect. Thank you so much for this recipe.

I could use my 80% sugar free pancake syrup instead of the regular syrup as I'm diabetic. Still enough sugar to activate the yeast. Recipe looks great. Thank you!

He did it all wrong. You have to put yeast, sugar and salt in warm milk or water first and add some flour like pancake consistency. Then let it bloom half an hour, after that you can add more flour or whatever else you like.

@@mwhitless53 I’ve made it a few times since I posted/found this recipe -I think you can make it less sweet I made a version with 1/2 the amount of syrup and substituted liquid allulose. Next time I make it, I’ll try just 1/3 the syrup. You might need to add some additional liquid (water?) So the dough doesn’t get too thick I’m far from an expert baker & I’m trying to figure out how reduce the amount of sugar, too

Thanks for the recipe. Substitute maple syrup wt raw brown sugar as maple syrup is expensive here in Manila. Used bread machine to knead. Best bread. Mabuhay.

Yes. Water isn't enough. Better to use an egg wash: 1 egg, 2-3 tabl water. Beat slightly. Brush on.

Regular flour can be used! Bread flour may just have a different protein and starch content more ideal for bread but both work great with pretty much no difference
