OMG, I used this recipe and made waffles in my Ninja vertical waffle maker. They were the most delicious waffles I have ever eaten. Crispy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. I made the whole batch and put the leftovers in the freezer so my husband and I could enjoy them later. Just pop them in the toaster, and breakfast is served. I enjoy watching your videos. The texture is just perfect. I have one question though. Does it matter what baking soda we use? My waffles tasted so bitter. I think too much baking soda. I used organic baking soda. To save the remaining batter, I made another batch without baking soda and mix the two batches and it worked! Yay.. so happy! No wastage and get to enjoy yummy waffles. My husband loved it! I am making another batch today. Thanks Natasha ❤
@Natashaskitchen2 жыл бұрын
Hi! This recipe uses baking powder. Did you mean to say that? Or did you use baking soda by mistake? Using baking soda would definitely be the reason for the bitter taste.

I just did and it indeed taste good and it was easier than I thought! Of course, I had to mess up something so I think I put less sugar than it required so the results weren't the same BUT still, I liked it a lot! I did 15 waffles and got them ready to freeze: cold on the countertop, then 2h at the freezer with space between them, then I packed in ziplock bags with baking paper in between them and little air. I hope it tastes as delicious as it was when I finished. Thanks for sharing the recipe, it went to my recipe book!

Your mix in's look delicious! I'll be trying those. My goto recipe I've been using and egg whipping technique is very similar to yours for fluffy waffles every time. The only difference is, I do mine like Waffle House, in that I use a double boiler to warm up my liquids, half&half instead of milk, and ghee instead of oil. Then I gradually sift in my dry ingredients into the warmed liquids whipping as the flour/backing soda mix drifts down from the sifter. I also love mixing in chopped pecans. Makes a super rich, and fluffy waffle!
