I run a small print farm. We print 22K parts a year. Our farm is primarly Bambu printers as you can see behind me. I have had almost every QIDI and this is the first I can have in my Farm as a standard machine. I also have Prusa Xl and that take too much work, Its off more than on, This is a solid machine!

Nice review! Great to have the perspective from someone who runs a print farm and demands quality with speed. I just got my Plus4 and so far I am very impressed. I mostly focus on automotive prints, so the ability to well utilize higher grade filaments is key for me. I like Qidi as a brand and I think this is definitely their most impressive offering to date.

@@willofthemaker Yeah the ability to do materials like PPA/PPS/PP with ease is a main draw for me. Great review (I subscribed), and fnally the first one of the 4 Plus to address the elephant in the room - does this reach Bambu levels of appliance-like usability. The question is, is it really as hassle-free, or just close enough for a seasoned pro; I'm a beginner.

Great review. My new 4 Plus arrives day early, will be here tomorrow. Keep watching reviews in the meantime, very excited! This is add to my Q1 Pro, XSmart3, and highly modified Ender3v2 which I learned on. Will be starting channel in Oct/Nov timeframe which covers 3d printers as used around my small wood and steel shop. The 4Plus will be exciting when they add the AMS 1st quarter 2025. I can not justify $2400 for Bambu Labs with heated chamber. I think Qidi has released a game changer based upon own experience doing engineering grade materials on my Q1 and even Xsmart3. Love fact moving up to the 305mm base plate. The new nozzle design looks very good as does the massive build plate. It really looks like Qidi paid attention to detail on this design, learning from past recent releases. I will say Qidi support has been first class. They listen to customer feedback and known to make changes based on customer input to their designs, even will to update manufacturing runs to ensure new additions and changes reach the public fast. You have a new subscriber, appreciate your review!

@stew675
@stew675 6 сағат бұрын
The Z-offset is done automatically. The stock setup sequence has a manual bed calibration that is actually optional. It allows you to perform a mechanical bed levelling sequence to ensure that the print bed is as flat as possible, before the automated Z-offset and automated bed-levelling measurements take place. You do NOT have to do the mechanical bed levelling as it's already pretty good out of the factory, but the Plus 4 still gives you that option should you want to chase

@@Kimberlie1 So not trying to call anyone out but rebuilding the hotend and securing it properly on a brand new printer is not a firmware update. I see it flaunted as a X1C challenger but with nothing close to the quality of prints. I mean it’s not terrible but every one of the toaster test models were far from excellent and the prints shown had obvious zits and stringing. I know there is a lot of pressure on reviewers to give these pros and cons and I don’t know maybe not get sued. But videos claiming everything is fine when clearly they are not just makes it difficult to decide if it’s worth it or not. I had one in my cart and then slowly backed away. I have been tricked before and am very skeptical now.

All the source code is available, and if you distrust the executables that are delivered, you can compile them yourself. Qidi has embraced and supports the open source movement. Mind you, out of necessity in terms of support, then soft-lock the firmware versions to their official ones, but if you REALLY distrust them, you can actually throw all of that away and just install your own firmware.
