My thoughts were racing and I was writing narratives for others about how they thought of me or how they interpreted what I might have said. I would sit in that space and make myself sick with worry. Hey guys for those questioning, I have entered a deep state of presence recently and I have some pointers to keep in mind: First of all practice meditating. Learn how to properly disidentify from thoughts and to see life how it is without bias, and to live without bias effecting your behavior. Incorporate this into life slowly. As Sadhguru says, learn how to tap into that and then slowly grow it more and more. Eckhart may have also touched on that. At first, you will get glimpses of it. Learn how to stretch these moments longer and longer until they cover, say, 10, minutes. Learn how to watch a flame flicker for 10 minutes without any interruption from thought. Set a timer to go off at 10 minutes and be honest with yourself. Did you lose presence? Finally, once you surpassed the "idea" of past and future and are fully in the now, the most prominent thoughts you will deal with are narrations of the present moment. To beat this final boss, simply escape language-based thinking. Realize that language is still limited and primitive, even. The world and even your mind is much more complicated than you could ever put into words, so let those words fade away that the greater experience can emerge. I wish you all the best. Heaven is waiting for you!

What is all this? Outdated ideas? Both Elkhart and Sadhguru behind the scenes use Jiddu Krishnamurti's teachings. Freedom is at the beginning, not slow effort. Any effort is still part of the thinker. A thief dressed as police and trying to catch other thieves. Thought playing tricks upon itself.

There are some enlightened people who have no particular vocation of importance or a vocation at all, but it’s not their karma to be teachers. No need to have a lot of teachers.

Below that habitual reaction is always a feeling of being fed up with my present condition. And each time it takes me a while to begin to recognize it and stop in my tracks. As soon as I touch upon the presence of freedom again, the sparkle in me that makes a new choice designs a new plan, I begin to feel better and confident that I'm using my inner compass and not allow the circumstances to rule my mood and sense of wellbeing. I've used the Work throughout my life and it has been a very effective method for removing stress, conflict and suffering. However, in the final stages of my suffering (I think it was final - but one can never be absolutely sure and it is welcome to come as it may!) some deep seated fear and sadness appeared followed with some stressful thoughts and using the Work proved inefficient and superficial to deal with those. It was like these emotions lived in the body cells and they couldn't be simply resolved by questioning my thoughts. So what really helped is simply being present with the energy of all the bodily sensations till it was all spent and gone out of the system.

Same here. I like to challenge myself when a troubling issue in life or something that is disguised as important arises and like to see if I can transition into presence at the moment of my awareness of the thought. It's also interesting because after I come back to the thought the solution presents itself without much energy on my part. It's impossible to float in open waters when you're trying helplessly to grasp on to something. Just float.
@advaita16525 жыл бұрын
Carpenter Family thoughts will always arise, we are human. It can be difficult if you taste stillness or enlightenment if you will, during an awakening, only to have your mind drag you back to “normalness” again. It’s when we accept the thoughts and return to consciousness time and time again, and like you said not get stressed by unconscious thoughts, then consciousness can lead the way rather than vice versa. It might not always be blissful, but it be a more peaceful way of life, in line with the Universe. Then it’s about how we apply our consciousness to what we do to fulfil our purpose 🙏🏼
@carpenterfamily61985 жыл бұрын
I agree - Be an observer of those thoughts rather than the thinker of them. We are here having a human experience - thoughts are part of that experience. We wouldn’t be human without them. Yet we should understand their ‘place’ and not let them become more than that.

I believe we are eternal spiritual beings, here having a finite human experience. It would be more accurate to say we are consciousness, rather than we use our consciousness. Our Consciousness is us ( just remove the word ‘our’, because we are it. ) We are our consciousness- that’s who we are. When we realize these things, thoughts loose their power, are reduced to what they really are ~ not much - just observations, passing ideas.

Who is it that examines thought? Surely it is another thought? Who is it that recognises the state of 'presence' when it occurs, and what is this recognition based upon? Memory? Recognition - "identification of something from previous encounters or knowledge". The weight of the past. Awareness cannot be achieved through the intention of becoming aware. Understand this fact fully, and then take it from there without taking to much notice of what others say about this. Words, ideas, symbols can only ever take you away from the moment - never towards it.

Here is Eckart tolle’s breakthrough .. that this is considered a success by (being aware) of your baddest and stress generating thoughts ...you are actually now creating a space between you and your thoughts , and you will no longer be your thoughts. For sure still awakening is ahead of this starting stage as Eckart puts it ...

Awareness, watching and listening to every thought. Asking oneself, is that true?. Is very powerful. If a thought or memory of something awful pops in, then yes it's true that happened. But it's also true that it happened in the past, drop it because it's not happening now. If the uncomfortable thought, hasn't happened, drop it because it's not happening now. Coming from Eckhart it sounds so simplistic and yet because of our generational conditioning it feels almost impossible, however, he throws us a lifeline. I love his talks. On this one, I do believe you can correct a person without condemning them. Ex: the thief- by just being passive or ‘awakened’ and not labeling the thievery does not make anyone more awakened in a community. Sure, the person can change in “10 to 20 years” yet NOW is the focus, so the most awakened place is to get involved and tell the person, “Hey, stop this action of thievery, please.” If one just sits back and smiles and thinks positive thoughts, he or she is not helping the situation or the ‘thief’ (I use this label for the action the person is connected to) and the community will continue to get taken advantage of because the person has not been corrected.

Thanks Mr.Tolle for sharing your wisdom so generously. It does so good to me and millions of people! You found your purpose un life: to make mankind aware of the distortion which non- observed thinking provokes on our beingness, our true self. That's simply and amazingly great! We are the new Humanity!❤️ We save our planet now!🌈

Presence is possible without questioning your thoughts. Questioning something, ties you to it. It’s similar to the question of trying to forget something, the very act of trying, stops you from forgetting. But if you concentrate on something else, redirecting your focus deeply, then you withdraw energy from the thing holding you, and you fill your mind with the new object of your attention If you meditate on the physical NOW, switching awareness away from your memory and imagination, to your immediate direct sensory input, then you arrive at maximum presence. The extent to which you fail to concentrate on the NOW, undermines your sense of presence. This same redirection onto love, forgiveness, kindness etc. the nature and characteristics of God, have the power to create the kingdom of heaven within yourself. Focussing on inequalities, status, personal advancement, grievances, rivalries and hatred doesn’t create heaven, it creates the opposite! False gods produce poisoned fruit!

Imo: questioning your thoughts is an early step towards presence for many. Awareness of a thought's intention should follow soon after. Like Eckhart says; thoughts become stories that feed the ego. Questioning a thought is a necessary progression for most, instead of having thoughts racing through your mind that drag you down and use energy pursuing these thoughts. If you can be aware of thoughts you reduce some of their power over you. Eventually you may be able to gain presence without having to specifically be conscious of each thought and it's intention.

Trough watching, or listening numerous of Eckhart's teachings, each time I'm clearly awake, at Peace. His books are a revelation to the world. But each time i think I've gotten it, there is that incredible ingenious mind ego of mine who has more trics and has specialized in undercover operations, that it even comes in and tell ," it's time to become a little more conciusness and drop thinking, OR give me the Wonderfull feeling of being concious even enjoying the peace together like two friends watching a movie, and after sometime telling me, that was a nice movie, what do you think about it and start laughing. I know the moment comes we can both laugh with it when the ego will be totally absorbed by "I consciousness " Maybe than consciusness will ask "you remember that trick you played that time" and ego will answer " you better stay present in the now i don't know what you're talking about" OR will that be Dementia slipped in by the backdoor this time ?😂 Thanks a million times Eckhart, I have found ☮️ 😉

It seems that you tend to use Eckhart's teachings somewhat like a dose of "feel-good" without really beginning to own it, to embody it as your own quality, gained by accepting your self as just right where you are. NOW. And start from there.
@evandeloo5 жыл бұрын
@@devonseamoor thanks for your reply, i really mean it, but it towards myself and more out of appreciation for Eckhart through the years, i have been practicing( wrong word ) Awareness , trough lot's off meditation, but only when I discovered Eckhart and his humble personality and the real power of Now , it's simple to understand knowing, that i was struck like never before. That being AWARE that you are AWARE is only to be found in the Now is living it, and life will bring it to you. Life is what you are, and not to leave it to your ego to manage it .It's not a doing. And on our way not to take ourselfs to serious because that's what our ego loves most " to be taken seriously" It is ment in a humoristic way to make The trap's AND trick's of our ego visible. Not at all as criticism towards Eckhart's teachings or person. I love the human-BEING AND I LOVE YOU ALL. Becoming a full-fleged human-BEING is a never ending Process. You can only find the power of being Aware in the the NOW , only in NOW, I AM THAT I AM, not i was that i was Or i shall that I shall. And Love for all that is, is it's driving energy ❣️
@evandeloo5 жыл бұрын
@@pedrofernandezfraga6475 I First of all, my apologies to every LOVELY HUMAN-BEING, whomever takes notice of my comment. This is the very first and probably the last time I wrote a comment on a medium like KZbin or any other media, I'm not even on Facebook or so. one of the first times reading one of the comments. It was written as a joke and the same moment as appreciation towards everyone who can see the value of a trough teacher as Eckhart, when recognized in awareness. And as far i know he likes a good joke ! It was also written In a moment of Awareness. That there are degrees in awareness , very trough when you start opening the door with the tools you are given by a good teacher and you will recognize him without doubts. There are many but still not enough, of them these days but they ALL refer to the same Awareness, consciousness, stillness, God... .., They ALL have a little bit of different methods, but all points to the same awareness, they recognize and Love each other But in awareness we are all one, we ALL experience Awareness and recognize it the same way, it's Awareness which knows itself through Human-Being's in the "I" from I AM, THAT I AM. WHEN WE take our SELF to seriously, than we fall unknowingly in the trap's of our EGO , MIND. Our mind likes to be taken seriously ALL the time No jokes towards itself are tolerated. The EGO or Mind can not laugh with itself because it is blind and deaf for self- criticism and call's in the painbody. Also in awareness there are NO diploma's or degrees diliverd a NEVER ending process . Until NOW Nobel prizes Not to be won, maybe for the book, The Power Of NOW should be given the prize. But not for Awareness, consciousness ... Itself. That would be Blasfemie. But To See Humor, you only give power to Awareness, because it Is LOVE, Joy, Laughter, Feeling Good, ALL the good we experience in being aware. This is the last comment i will write. maybe better become a column writer than become Aware

What ''you'' expose is your personal truth and as true as it may be it differs from other people's thoughts and reality. I feel alone in this world because everyone is looking for their own reality, truth. What I can only do is accept the strangeness, sometimes madness of reality and I feel away from people, it's a very bad feeling...stop asking means to surrender to life, we all are a product of life but what can consciousness add to what we already are? I'm going through a period of existential emptiness and it's painful, I've got a hint of depression at may of this year and questions have moved to a deeper level, really deep...
