I didn't know that you had a youtube channel, and also that semi-rant from 5:10 that is als o the way I think, I'll also go with a less frequent way of releasing music so I can focus more on the songs rather than creating as fast as I can, so amen to that brother and cheers from Mexico!

i use pro-q3 linear for hp/lp on the kick bass sweeps :) highpass at 12 or 18 db sounds super smooth and non resonant compared to zero latency. I also have a bandpass with widest Q possible, so i have this to make a different sweep with as well, and also automate the freq on the BP if i like. it sounds like simplon might be running as linear

If its turend on all the time, it will make a prety much latency. But if it suits you, than it’s all good :)

Very cool video, Maybe you could make a video about how you layer your leads? That seems interesting. I can imagine 3 layers but 5 is beyond me :)

I saw your Groups Channel at the end of the video and all the faders are close to 0 db....how do you control all the channels pretty close to 0db without clipping on the master ? do you rise down the volume in master channel until it reach 0, or -6?

Hey ho i like ur approach on group processing ;) as im writing my bachelor thesis about distortion effects im thinking about it a lot. U use distortion to basicly reduce the amplitude of the upper and lower halvewave a bit so that the mastering compressor doesnt get hit by unnecesary transients. The distortion u used in standartclip ceems to me like it would only effect the upper halvwave if the signal. So the lower halvewave would stay the same. Correct me if i am wrong but i think although it propably sounds good, because it creats even harmonics, it would not achive the peak reduction as well as maybe a softclip algorithm that affects both of the halfwaves. I guess symetrical distortions are better for the purpose of peak Reduktion. But in the end its all theory and doesnt matter that much ;D

Yes! You are correct, there is the name for that techinque and its named “Crest Factor”. The way of reducing the peaks wothout losing much of the power.

Great video! Why do you choose to not group your one shots with your leads? If they're layered together, would it not makes sense to group them together so that the peaks and all that are processed together?
@EClipChannel3 жыл бұрын
I process single shots a bit different from the leads.

What is the reason you don't use saturation on your groups? Like saturn?
@EClipChannel3 жыл бұрын
To which group you refer to?
@Sirius-qr4vu3 жыл бұрын
@@EClipChannel On any of them. I don't mean for reducing the transient like you showed us with the broken tube settings on the drum bus. But for adding a bit warmth or character. I think saturation on a group where you sum multiple instruments together sound different than saturation on each channel seperated. Do you sometimes use saturation on groups?
@EClipChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@Sirius-qr4vu No, I do not think that is a good idea to add saturation on main groups, as it easily can be over saturated. I di sometimes the parallel saturation/distortion on some of the groups, but I keep my Buses/Groups processing the simples as possible, it saves me from huge headache!
