1 reason the reason the injectors are not continuing to trigger is that you need a "coil fired" signal return to the ecu. Older Toyota ecus had one wire at about 5-6v and the trigger was puled to ground each time a coil fired, later ecus had separate trigger returns, 1 for each coil. 2nd reason is the cam and crank signals have to be in the correct phase with each other, so if a cam belt broke or slipped out of time you ignition and injection pulse would only fire a few times until key on again.

How do you know what (type of) signals to expect or send to simulate different components? I'm trying something similar with no luck on some ECU...

If I understand ardu-stim is generating a square wave signal you are converting - to what ? - with a RC filter ? I'm trying this with a Renault Sirius 32 ECU but no luck for the moment... with the RC filter I get a triangle wave between 0 and 5v with a 0.47µF cap & 1K res ^^

ardustim generates crankshaft sensor signal it makes a similar 0-5v signal of a hall effect sensor.If your car use a different sensor like a VR sensor then ecu wont understand that signal
