My local machine shop had some on the shelf. Good thing I bought them.

What does the center hole where are the gasket fits perform?? A lot of the gaskets order nowadays do not fit so you have to cut out the center portion in order to screw the nozzle down with the side screws...

For those folks that don’t know, the black tool you used is called a pin vise.

I managed to obtain a "blank" casting. What do you suppose that measures out to? It was a blank casting that the brass would press into. I'm wondering if they all start out small, or are different sizes...or? I ran it "as is"...and believe it or not, it cured my bog. 😬🙃

Would the pump nozzles from older carter avs carbs work as cores ? ie 68-70 factory mopar avs carbs? Thanks for your time, great information.
@MuscleCarSolutions Жыл бұрын
Doubtful on the factory carbs. There were a couple different variants. You’d have to verify that one yourself. Thank you!

Great information I like your videos on the Edelbrock carbs. Question, is it possible to swap in annular boosters into a 1406 carb? Any mods you can do to increase the air flow slightly? (35-60 CFM) Thanks!

I answer this question completely in my booster tech video I did about a month ago. I’d encourage you to watch that one to see why. Answer is no.

Have you made a video going over how you can figure out where rod and jet combinations that aren't listed on a tuning chart would fit within the tuning chart? Like on the 1905/6 chart is shows #13 101jet, 71/42 rod is 4% richer then #14 101jet, 73/42 rod. Where would a 100jet 71/42 fit? 2% richer then #14? I have a feeling I've heard you talk about this before but I don't know if there was a formula to figure it out. Sorry if the question was convoluted and rambling

I don’t. 99% of the time I use the tuning chart. I would never recommend trying to add or remove fuel on your own. It’s not going to hurt anything, but it’s not a very simple process. If you have a AFR it would help you determine how it performed but by the time you got the cruise and power modes all sorted out, it’s probably a calibration on the chart anyway. Don’t know how much you’d really gain from trying on your own.

Awesome video. I been meaning to ask you, do you, or have you considered selling tuning parts on your website? Metering rods, nozzles, accelerator pumps that sort of thing?
@MuscleCarSolutions2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Nope I’ve ever considered it. I’ll sell a few carburetors that I’ve done through out the year and a few other modified parts on occasion. Off the shelf tuning products are very available just about anywhere and I’m not in any spot to compete with that. Maybe one day but for now this is all I’m interested in.

Does anyone make a AFR that you can temporary insert in your tail pipe. I have side exhaust and need to do more than 1 car.

Yes but they are terribly inaccurate.

There’s plenty of decent ones on the market but the cheap ones will be easier to leave in one vehicle. If you want the nice wireless ones, you’ll pay a decent amount for them.
