Margaret, I really enjoy you as a tour guide. You try to fit in a lot of information about what we are seeing and the history which I love. You asked about what we would like to see. Yes, personally I would love to see tours of the inside of the Edinburg Castle if that’s possible as well as the cathedral. When I was much younger I was able to tour Europe and saw many cathedrals which I loved and also Westminster Abbey in London but those big trips are most likely behind me now so I want you to know how much you are appreciated by those of us who are unable to see these places in person. Greetings from Canada. 🇨🇦♥️

Thank you Margaret for a great tour. Edinburgh seems to have hills and bridges all over and so many "Nooks and Crannies." The UK is just dripping in history, my house was built in 1961 and that considered a OLD house, LOL..... Your enthusiasm and charm shines from the video. Between you and Sinead, "who could ask for anything more." Thanks you for all your walking, even with the clouds and a bit of rain it looked like a great day...........

This is a nicely done video, and in my opinion far above the average KZbin "tour" video. The narration is interesting and informative, and the narrator/videographer keeps the camera on the scenery rather than herself -- something so many KZbinrs fail to do. Roads are not enough spacious if i'm not wrong. Statues attract much. People walking to'n fro aren't looking happy.I don't know why ? Chamber is beautiful. Looking style of architecture it seems there is eternal silence and sadness. Depicts country's culture in an impressive way. Cathedral looks amazing. Finally , i appreciate your great effort, the way you made this film. Yes , parliament is too very impressive. Love you. Bye.

Hello Margaret. Do you know what's great about your videos? I get to travel back in your time to January 2022 of your time to have you host this great tour. Edinburgh Castle certainly looks that far back but again another wonderful visit. Hollyrood and Mary Queen of Scots is magical history come to life. And bagpipes in the background echoes the mystery. So much for me to learn and you have once again whetted my appetite for knowledge. And I've just started reading Mary and the death of Darnley by Alison Weir so this is fortuitous to me. Love your company as you take all of us on these fascinating jaunts. Can't wait for our next foray. Cheers 🎉🎉🎉 P.S. i noticedthat the statue of Hume has the right toes that look very bright copper as opposed to the rest that we would expect of something that has weathered the elements. I was wondering if there is a reason for this.
@TheMargotMoore Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, RJ! And please let me know what you think of that book - I enjoy Alison Weir so much. She manages to write history in a way that almost comes across as fiction, it's just so engrossing. In fact, I think she has made forays into historical fiction but I have yet to read any of those. Antonia Fraser is another of my favourites! I love that the bagpipes got captured, I agree that it adds some atmosphere.
@r.j.powers381 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMargotMoore I kind of figured that's what made the toes shine on Mr Hume. Glad you could verify this. As for Mary and Darcy it does read like a novel. Between her court and the machinations of Bothwell it's a good read. I also have read Antonia Fraser. What I love about Alison Weir is she can give all the rumors of an event and then tell why she has chosen to believe the one she puts forward. Sometimes I've disagreed with her assessment but that sharing of all the permutations makes the read almost a collaboration between author and reader. I'm so looking forward to the next tour of yours I find. Thank you for all your hard work. Your love of history makes you a terrific teacher. My best to you 👍👍👍

Honestly, if you're just strolling along and not stopping it would take about half an hour. But I definitely recommend taking the extra time to explore the cemetery (or Mary King's Close!) :) I hope you enjoy your visit!

The narrator cites a 17th man & criminal BRODIE. In the movie 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie ' Maggie Smith. In the final.scenes Miss Brodie claims descent from this man during the confrontation between herself and her 'assassin' . Made in the UK during the early 1970's. If you have not seen the motion picture it is recommended you put it on the ' bucket list. Based on the novel by Muriel Spark & a West End play.
