What's your take on all the rivals to the new Charger? Let us know in the comments.

Depends. The key is "did they nail the heart of the ride?" If they did, I'd consider it. If not, I'd never consider it.
@deanmcmanis93989 күн бұрын
I'm glad that you didn't ignore the Tesla Model 3 Performance. One key point is that (for those who qualify) the base M3P qualifies for the $7,500 subsidy which brings the price down the $49K, which is nearly $20K less than the Ioniq 5N and the performance EV Charger. Interestingly, the performance Charger lines up pretty closely to the $75K Tesla Model S Long Range, which goes over 400 miles on a charge, but still manages 0-60 in 3.1 sec, and even though the Model S is a matching size, it weighs 1,000lbs less than the Charger. The Charger would be a killer EV if it came out 5-7 years ago. But the EV competition simply got better in the meantime. The EV Charger needs to lose weight and lower its price to be competitive.
@roguedogx9 күн бұрын
@@deanmcmanis9398 the model s goes 400 miles with an asterisk. Yes, that is the EPA rating, but other tests (such as the Edmunds range test) say that it's more like 350 miles. Edit - also, the charger is not a numbers car. That is not the point, and dodge knows it. This is a car that is meant to prove dodge can make EVs with attitude. That's the true measure of success here.

@@LafemmebearMusicShut the hell up. It ain’t just nostalgic, it’s just better. Also gas is way better for the environment than any puny electric car. Because those burnt up lithium smog that goes in the ozone stays there while gas doesn’t. And there’s no way that a literal acid that is one of the most toxic substances and chemicals in the world isn’t more dangerous than natural dinosaur juice from the earth, not to mention child slavery in those mines. One thing it's got going for it is the body style. There just aren't a lot of coupes anymore. Other I6 options (Supra, BMW 4 series) cost a lot more, and there aren't any other EVs at all. Not everyone wants a crossover.

Since its pretty much a 100% guarantee at this point Dodge will go bankrupt (NOBODY is buying this car, the Hornet is selling extremely poorly, and the Grand Cherokee will cannibalize any new Durango), I wonder who will purchase Chrysler, Ram, and Jeep from Stellantis, since they’ll probably try to exit this market due to poor sales among their other brands here (Alfa Romeo and Maserati). Hopefully an American billionaire that actually intends to build the cars here and not rebadge Fiats and import them.

This will be a total disaster for Dodge. The Mopar crowd doesn’t want a V6 and the EVs are DOA. The EVs are overpriced and will most likely lose 50 percent of their value in the first year. No one is going to buy them. It seems Dodge is so embarrassed by this lineup that they keep delaying the release.
