I’m sure someone already mentioned this but I’m too lazy to read all the comments…but as the owner of multiple Raptors (full size Raptors) the side steps are there to block gravel sized rocks from flying up and hitting your fenders and chipping your paint. Since most Raptor owners prefer high speed trails over rock crawling (as this is what the truck is designed for) the benefit of the steps protections your truck from flying rocks outweighs the drawback of lost clearance when rock crawling. So I would definitely not agree that these “need to come off immediately”. Just my two cents…

Sorry. Having been in the tire biz for 27 years, I would NOT recommend going from a LR C to a LR E. It still only has THREE sidewall plies. They're beefier, but the reasoning for it is to hold more air pressure and carry more weight. On the road, you can't use that carrying capacity as it will exceed the suspension capacity. Also, running the LR E at lower air pressures will create more sidewall heat. And being heavier, the LR E will lower your gas mileage.
@Brian-og4uu15 күн бұрын
They're less likely to puncture on sharp rocks, which is the biggest reason I put an E-range KO2 on my Tacoma. It did lower the fuel economy, though, and the front end wanders on the freeway even though it's completely stock otherwise.

Not sure why people keep comparing the Bison to the Raptor and TRD pro. Especially a race. Use a regular ZR2. Lighter. Quicker and a better direct comparison.

Agreed, the Bison has about 300 lbs more than the regular ZR2. It would probably help by a half second or so in the dirt drag race part. But in the baja part of the video it would help exponentially. EVERY reviewer has slept on the base ZR2. Fairly certain Toyota won't let them put TRD-Off Road against base ZR2, despite them being within $1k of each other once adding 8spd auto, predator steps, and bedliner to TRD-Off Road. That is standard base build on 24 Tacoma TRD Off Road before anyone tries to come at me with the "it's base is actually $42k...". The ZR2 base would have been a much closer race using Baja Mode launch control. The difference in powertrain is even smaller when you take into consideration the Colorado ZR2 comes with 3.43 gears, while Ranger Raptor has 4.27 gears. Why GM put such a lazy ratio in ZR2, let alone Bison, I don't know.

ZR2 Bison by a mile...not even close. The ZR2 should have been used in this comparison and that's even better! The only thing the Ranger Raptor is better is the powertrain that Ford went with. GM should have went with a V6 turbo but the 2.7 turbo they use is not bad.The ZR2 is the best value at around $52k loaded. The best all arounder as well. The ZR2 Bison should have been a small block V8 with a 10 speed automatic to keep it different than the ZR2 and justify it's $65k price tag.

If you want all around offroad capability the ZR2 is the way to go. If you want to race around on dirt the Raptor has it.

Baja mode on Colorado doesn't put it in 4Wheel Drive. You must still select it. Also, it turns off/reduces traction control. In a drag race on lose dirt may not be good choice.

Very fun video. I like the side by side comparison. From day one I been saying that the Bison needed different gear ratio for the oversize tires. They are also heavy. We can see how slow like a slug it is.

Once again: in this class is Ranger Raptor and everyone else. If the Raptor proves to be really toughte, Ford has hit the ten! (And a retractable step in the facelift...)

Pro4x would have been last in every category. Until nissan updates that old powertrain and chassis it will always be last
@TheReal_JG3 ай бұрын
@@beexiong2995 Frontier hasn't been last at everything unless 0-60 times is that important to a buyer. The powertrain has been in production since 2021, and the chassis was never a problem. It's properly built as a mid-size work truck. Overall reliability has been second to none, and even more so, considering the new Tacoma isn't fairing too well from blown engines and parts snapping easily.

To be fair, the ZR2 Bison has 35" tires, I would assume that it would've beaten the TRD Pro (probably not by much, though) if it were the standard ZR2 with the 33" tires, like the ones on the TRD Pro and the Raptor (I believe).
