Thank you for this video! I've been struggling with my recovery from anorexia (I was in recovery for 11 years until about 3 months ago) and tik tok has really driven my disordered thoughts about food and weight and diets. I need to be reminded what I learned in treatment, and your video was a great reminder. Thank you!

I find these videos really helpful to combat the "but what if" thoughts we've been kind of been conditioned to have when we hear of new "research" regarding food. It doesn't sound healthy but what if there is something behind it... Thank you for giving us the facts!

I'm not Korean but I am Asian and I cannot stress enough how horrifying the Kpop diet is, especially when you know these performers are overworking themselves with training and practice. Kpop is influential and it's fun but please don't harm yourself.

Well done Lucie, this was a great video.. some of the stuff being said and portrayed in those tik toks is so harmful.. and it's really refreshing to hear your kind and yet firm responses to them. Thank you Xx

Awesome! Lucie you're such a breath of fresh air. I couldn't agree with you more when it comes to carbohydrates and intermittent fasting to name a few topics. Your reaction videos are some of my favorite because you really cover a lot of subjects in nutrition that are really hyped up but borderline fad and trendy. You're the real deal and a great educator as a nutritionist. Keep these videos coming I love your natural sensible approach to nutrition because it really stems from important keys like simplicity, practicality cost efficiency and moderation.

I appreciate your comments on different issues here, but in my opinion, there are a few things that i wouldn't really agree to. Not everything is based or meant only for losing weight. I'm not doing OMAD, but there is absolut no reason to be so against it. You are not ruining anything if you are doing it for a few days. When we are ill we also don't eat much and it isn't even recommended to force yourself to eat. It can help eliminate certain cravings for lets say chips or junkfood. It's like a reset. There are a lot of studies out there, that says it's very good to have a break from eating. Your body sometimes needs a break to give your liver recovery time. Esp. if you are not someone who eats a balanced diet. Also Keto. Here I agree 50:50. Yes it's hard to sustain and most people won't be able to do it. But it doesn't mean its unhealthy. But you have to do it the right way, without the shortcuts of buying keto-processed-stuff. I think it's a good alternative if you want to lose weight for a certain event in the future, bec. at least, you won't be starving on this diet :) Also the carbs in the morning or spikes that it gives you. Not everyone reacts the same way to carbs. I like eating bananas, but at the same time, they make me extremly hungry after eating them. If i eat bread, it won't take long for me to geht hungry again or feel bloated. But i have no issues with rice or potatos. In my opinion, everyone should try certain things, like ruling something out of their diet for a few days to see, if there is something that makes them feel not so good or bringing them issues. Carbs are not always bad like you said. But it doesn't mean they are always healthy for everyone. Personally i'm a natural interm. fastener. I don't get hungry before around 11 a.m. Mostly around 1 p.m. But i'm also not forcing myself to starve if i get hungry at 9 a.m. I'm just not forcing myself to eat when i'm not hungry. If you give your body more time without food, many people are noticing that they have less cravings and that gives them time to buy good food bec. they are not controlled by their hunger.

Here we go again with the glucose spike roller coaster myth. I have been eating two pieces of sourdough bread with peanut butter and jam, along with some fruit for breakfast for about 30 years. I don't eat again for another 7 hours because I'm not hungry, but if I am, I eat. No big deal.

I think OMAD is healthy for certain people. For example, obese people. Recently, studies show that not eating for 16 hours will cause your body to eat themselves. However, your body is smart so they only eat harmful things. Not eating can also give your digestive system a rest and avoid risking digestive problems.

That is the one thing I wish I wouldn’t have been sucked into living in the US / I was there when the Atkins diet first appeared on scene in major way and all talk of a ketonic state in body being desirable and all that xxxx… it did so much damage to my body from kidney problems to digestive issues to just in general totally throwing off my body The single worst thing anyone can do is buy into any of these extreme diet suggestions It took me years to correct that and rebuild a healthy relationship with food, one where food is seen as a pleasurable and enjoyable part of daily life vs a mix into perfect protein carb and fat balance…

I'm so sorry you went through that😰I'm so glad your relationship with food is better now!

@@Edukalebylucie I think this is one of the main issues with the US diet culture. Every time I see a video by someone promoting an all fat and protein diet I just want to scream. There are actual so called medical professionals on KZbin who promote eating only fat and protein / the so called carnivores. It is so so dangerous. I am perfectly fine now but I had serious kidney probs for a while that luckily I managed to reverse and it came from being obsessed with putting my body in a ketonic state. Not until I moved back to Europe / UK, did I manage to truly reverse all. I just hope that anyone ever trying these diets realises how dangerous it actually can be. That is why I appreciate your channel so much.

I am intrigued by all the stuff in the 2nd TikTok. That being said, I agree that most people can't sustain that strict of a diet even if it is logorhythmically scaled to their basal metabolic rate and total daily energy expendature.

Can you do more videos about healthy eating with Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance? I think many many people, especially women struggle with this and as a result struggle to lose weight. Some diabetic medications even cause weight gain. There seems to be alot of debate surrounding eating carbs and research on what the diabetic associations guidelines (British and American) on diet are not actually working. Then we have medical doctors like Dr McDougal who is all about plant based diet teaching that you should eat carbs, but no fats at all, not even nuts and seeds. Then ofcourse other Doctors saying Keto is the best for Type 2 diabetes. Each with their own research to back them up. It's so confusing! Plus, being forced to cut out sugars because it's now become demonised because you have this medical condition now makes you crave sweet things.

The worst part about the GMO comment is most GMO's are genetically modified to be better for you and grow better, ei have more vitamins or survive drought like situations so that whole point in the diet community just seems silly and is probably a marketing scheme

I think with all the fasting, and all that is because people that are overweight needs to lose the fat we can eat a healthy meal and we can digest it and we will stay the same, but we need to get down to the fat to actually lose it because if you’re overweight, there’s so much fat to lose so there has to be a way that you can get down to the fat we get the part where you eat, right but you have to get down to the fat so what are you suggest on that if you don’t fast to get to the fat. What do you suggest I mean yeah we exercise I know someone to exercise every single day and still not getting to her fat it’s so hard to do when the damage is done, I don’t think skinny people should do it that’s just my opinion I can see that it’s not gonna do no justice for them, but get the toxin out of you once a month would be good just to get the flesh out but for fat people, that’s overweight, I can see it benefit more of them

The heavier a person is, the more food they actually need. There are safer ways to lose weight than fasting!
