Nice, sleek design from a reputable brand. Ideally, I'd opt for the 5 or 8 inch, but you can't go wrong with any. The 3 inch pair would make a great secondary set of reference monitors for helping to ensure the the bass guitar has enough mids to complete a balanced mix. Great review!
@Fjaist2 жыл бұрын
Just picked up Cr4 for mixing and mastering and to me these sound amazing bass is deep on these and highs are smooth and clear dont be fooled by the small size of monitor there is rich clean bass output if you want more then go for R5 or R8 ,and what its larger versions sound like I can imagine almost a speaker/sub unit price is good value too.The sound quality is good enough to use in hifi setup so considering a pair to use maybe the CR5 with Harman karden special edition cd player and digital amp.

Just got my CR3. My first pair of studio monitor. And it just perfect. I choose CR3 because of my room condition is untreated room so CR3 is the best choice. CR5 or CR8, soon after I have a proper studio with proper acoustic treatment.

The CR3 or CR8 sounded best to my ears - i.e. closer to a flat response which is what I want, with the CR3 more neutral; the CR8 more "punch" if you will, from either high end but especially low end. That being said, I am looking to replace an $800+ pair of active speakers with excellent flat- response sound. I spent several hours evaluating all sorts of studio monitors before selecting them, over 10 years ago. With international travel in the coming year, I can no longer manage to move about with a pair of 25+lbs (approx 10kg) each speaker. The desk top, wide screen monitor, speakers, guitar effects pedal boards ALL has to be sold. I'm looking for the best sounding (flat response) compact studio monitors. I have just begun my research, and really appreciate your informative overview/review, especially given that C-19 "restrictions" have limited any in-store testing. All the best to you and yours meneer. 🙏🏽

Hello. Forgot about any others I was choosing when discovered new "Green Lighting" 3" Mackie CR3-X model. Was targeted for 5" min and just change a mind on the fly. Tomorrow should be delivered, will make open box review. Recently got 32" monitor (LG 32UN880-B), so now will pair with Green speakers . P.S. Did pretty extensive research in KZbin and could't found any information .

I bought CR5-BT in 2021. The switch for selecting which speaker is left or right is already going kaput. I'd research this before buying one of these speakers as they have an issue with this switch. I don't know if the faulty switch has been upgraded from the faulty, cheap one as originally shipped or not.

FYI - one shot of deoxit spray and they are working fine now.

@nomad1517 Жыл бұрын
If they didn't use cheap materials and poor quality control, this speaker would hands down be the best on the market. I've heard people have noticed a very annoying hiss over time. Some even had their pair break over a short period of time. Same with their sub. Mackie seems to have less issues with their more expensive products, but I could be wrong. Still, they need to handle this and improve their customer service, because its a joke right now.
