I just wrote a similar thing. For example, Star Wars was fucking amazing in the early 2000 and then they sold to Disney and in the span of 10 years they destroyed EVERYTHING, not only the meh prequels: books aren't canon anymore (and holy shit some of them are good), videogames are just worse gameplay wise, like how Battlefront 2 (2005) is still the best sw themed shooter, KOTOR as a setting just doesn't exist anymore because...? A satisfying continuation to the OT? Yeah, there were like 12 books and a couple videogames about it, not canon anymore. Now you get the continuation in wich everyone is retarded, especially Luke.

Also, something that's always been kind of funny about the Indiana Jones franchise is Indie's continued doubtfulness of the paranormal, especially in The Last Crusade. The order of films goes The Temple of Doom, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Last Crusade, but what's kind of humorous to me is that in Temple of Doom he witnessed a man's heart being pulled from their chest, still beating and the man still remaining alive well after the fact before he's sacrificed. Not to mention how he mentioned Shiva when he and the villain were fighting on the collapsed bridge, and somehow, he started chanting, which caused the stones to burn their way out of the bag. But when Raiders comes around, he fully doubts that there's such a thing as God's wrath within the box, even though he's seen even weirder stuff in the past. And then there's Crusade, where he doubts the holy grail is real at the start, but then believes in it towards the end. It's like, my brother in Christ, there's being skeptical, then there's just being flat out ignorant. XD This isn't a dig at the franchise, I still love the first three, and enjoy Crystal Skull, though more as popcorn entertainment. It's just something funny I noticed when rewatching these movies.

I always liked to image that it's just things he doesn't quite understand as being beyond his field of study... but then again by the end of the Lost Ark Indy saves himself and Marion because he takes the curse of the the ark seriously and then witnesses the power of God. Only for the Last Crusade to doubt if the grail exists, like my guy you literally saw the Ark of the Covenant and somehow the Holy Grail can't exist? It's a small dig but overall doesn't hurt the movie but just makes it funnier in hindsight
@AshXXMayftw8 ай бұрын
@@legoeasycompany Yeah. It's not a big deal, just a bit weird that he's still in denial about this stuff even though he's had firsthand experience with it. As for how he knew to avert his gaze at the end of Raiders, there's been an interesting theory that either when he and his partner first found the ark, or during the ride over to the ritual sight at the end, the Ark itself spoke to him or implanted the solution inside his mind, telling him not to look at it once it had been opened. It's not confirmed and could easily be a mistake made after a simple rewrite, but it's an interesting thought.

You know it's going to awfully written and if it isn't than we legit have a miracle on own hand. Sure it can work to have a more jaded older man but only if you don't just shit all over his past or him. Also don't have characters pointing and laughing at him but instead realising how much of a badass he is. No-one wants to see their hero reduced to just a man who is depressed. Could we have at least one happily married older couple? All I know for certain, is that back at the time that the golden age of Hollywood was coming to an end, the reason for this, was primarily the fact that Hollywood budgets had ballooned to excessive amounts, to the point where even the executives knew that a lot of their major projects could never recover their budgets, even if they became cultural milestones. After this, Hollywood basically imploded on itself, the house of cards they’d constructed had finally collapsed under its own weight, and it force Hollywood to either bring in actually talented people with creative visions and have them work on much smaller budgets, or face complete financial ruin. This era of Hollywood is where we got all of our modern day brilliant directors, our Spielberg’s, our Scorsese’s, etc. The industry was on fire, and it left them with no choice but to hand over a micro budget to people with passion, and pray they made something that made a profit, and it revitalized the industry, and created the silver age of Hollywood from the 60s to 90s. But now those people that drove the revival of Hollywood are beginning to retire, and the people who got in because they were directly inspired by that first wave of directors aren’t far behind, leaving only people who either want to vaguely ape the styles of the first and second wave (JJ Abbrams), or hack frauds with no talent or passion. But for some reason, the crash that the industry desperately needs to have happen in order to prevent a full on cataclysmic implosion, is not being allowed to happen. Probably because one company owns 70% of the market, and is too stubborn to admit that it needs to change its ways, which will inevitably cause the entire industry to be annihilated, if they can’t get major unethical corporate bailout from the government, or finally just change what they’re doing.

It's useless to look for meaning in a thrown-together band-aid of an ending they were forced to make because everyone hated the original ending/movie so much. The meaning the original ending (along with the rest of the first version of the movie) was going for was "Yay women! Boo men! Time for men to step aside _universally!_ (Ya know, except for garbage collection or bricklaying or plumbing or anything else that we don't want to do.) The Indy is female!" They were fooling themselves if they thought a movie with an 80 year old lead would justify a $300 million budget. Gen Z hasn’t seen ANY of these movies. Older people are coming off the last one that was divisive at best. Who was this made for?

Well acted scenes but completely out of character from what was established before? Where have I seen that before?

Raiders of the Lost Ark is a fantastic stand alone film. I'll accept Last Crusade as a great conclusion to the first trilogy but the series begins and ends with Raiders when the Ark is wheeled into that warehouse and the credits start rolling. Everything else is fan fiction.

Wrong. Crystal Skull IS the canonical ending. In the chronologically first movie, Temple of Doom, Indy gets a taste of having a family (love interest + boy), in Raiders he rekindles his old relationship with Marion, in Last Crusade he has an adventure with his long lost father & reconciles with him. Crystal Skull brings all these things together, albeit with Indy in the father role. It's the ultimate fulfillment of the previous movies. And Indy truly has a happy ending: gets married & has a son to carry on his legacy.

when Lucasfilm goes to 0. Ill buy the company and write how Mutt (Played by Chris Pratt) faked his death to help short round find treasure in china and wear the indy outfit.

In Last Crusade Connery was 58 and Ford was 46. Connery was not only sexual active, he was getting girls pregnant at twelve. When I heard Harrison Ford was 34 when Star Wars finished, I said, "Good Lord! He must be a million years old!". Jeepers, Ford in the Diarrhea of Destiny, was 21 years older than Connery in the Last Crusade. Someone's gotta do something about this people getting older problem

Aside from how crazy the idea of traveling back through time was interesting, it's been 2 hours and 30 minutes and you cant do that. You peaked at the last frame and spent all this time just boring the people and now you do something remarkably interesting?? BAD idea.

I'm a bit confused: why is this film still being discussed? It was arguably the worst thing to come out in the worst year of cinema, and doesn't deserve a single second of extra attention. It should be spat on and kicked into the basement of obscurity, only to be used as a warning to others who might think to follow in it's footsteps. Or is this a reupload from last year?

It's a focused excerpt with, I believe, light editing from the 5 hour video on the main EFAP channel from last summer so I guess it depends on what you consider a reup.
