So what about intrinsic activity?
@drdanthelizzyman2 жыл бұрын
Intrinsic activity is the correct term to use in this example (not efficacy).

@@drdanthelizzyman efficacy depends on both right? After a year and I still don't quite get it lol
@drdanthelizzyman2 жыл бұрын
EC50 and Intrinsic activity are both system-dependent measures that are components of efficacy and the operational affinity of the agonist.

Tanks! Can we from these 2 graphs decide which drug has higher potency?
@thapelomoloi76853 жыл бұрын
X is more potent. Why is more effective as it is capable of producing a higher response. Y is less potent as more of it is needed to produce the same response as X. It’s just that X peaks lower than Y , making it less effective.

thanks for the video. so is it safe to say that drug x is more potent than drug y since you need a smaller dose of x to get a 'larger' response than y?
@Emtprep9 жыл бұрын
+busola Good question. Keep in mind the difference between the X and Y drugs is not the dose, but the concentration.

@@Emtprep dose and concentration, what the different, i thought it just the same.
@Emtprep5 жыл бұрын
@@belalangkicap343 Dose is the prescribed amount the patient needs to take, concentration is the amount of medicine in a given amount of liquid or weight.
