Started doing cold showers while I was away on holiday in South Africa, and I haven't turned back since. I always feel motivated after a cold shower to the point where its become a solid part of my routine. I have a cold shower, clean my room and go to gym. I'm still fat but now I'm fat and can lift.

Thanks for your videos. Embracing stoicism is one of the best things that I did. Thanks to stoicism I'm starting to change for the better: -I started no fap -I avoid porn use -I set limits for using time consuming apps (KZbin, Instagram, etc.) -I started doing cold showers -I stopped saying sorry everytime (Now I say sorry only when I'm wrong) -I confronted my parents today (I always had fear to confront them, because of the consequences) -etc. Thank you very much for all the things that you did, expecially for creating this channel. Thank you.

I took a cold shower once because we ran out of hot water in our tank. Instead of just waiting for it to replenish I decided “to hell with it” and just did it and I was actually glad I did. It made me more motivated to get through the shower instead of standing there in the comfort and warmth for 20+ minutes doing nothing and afterward I felt refreshed and invigorated. I tried taking a few more since then but I eventually just gave back in to the warmth. I think after watching this video I will start doing it again

Personally i find cold showers very refreshing and i love them. I started taking cold showers a little over a year ago, i saw a wim hof video and decided to start taking cold showers. I was also very very depressed then, and cold showers made me feel alive. It reminded me i was alive and could feel still, which was really nice. I've always taken cold showers since, mainly for the benefit of cold showers (better hair, skin, etc.) and i love them.

My headache was gone in just two weeks. My skin becomes softer, and my hair seemed to grow faster. After two months I no longer need to wear thick jacket riding my bike at night. My sight improved so much as well, I could see distant objects clearly through my visor, sometimes even when they are hidden behind something else. After about 6 months, seeing ghosts became normal, and I started to levitate whenever my skin touches cold water. I really recommend this habit.

I take a cold shower everyday it wakes me up instantly and i feel happier. A cold shower also releases happy neurons to your brain :) Al tough i start with warm water for shampoo etc and finish cold like 5 minutes. Try this turn; down the warm gently until you feel discomfort, then pay attention to your breath nose in mouth out very deep like meditating. If you start at the top of your spine is the easiest for me to adjust to the cold water. Good luckk :P

In my opinion the best thing to do is hot to cold showers. Hot water breaks down dirt and sebum(protective skin oils) and opens the pours up. Cold water tightens pours.

@Django45

Cold showers are generally not recommended before bedtime. They energize you most likely through adrenaline, cortisol and/or other hormones, making sleep onset more difficult and may impact sleep quality. Cold showers are best after waking up and after vigorous physical activity or during the day when hot. Better for sleep is a warm bath or shower around an hour or 2 before bedtime because that resets your internal thermostat lower than the usual base. This slight temperature change signals to the body to go sleep among other things.

I've been taking cold showers for about a year and a half and I honestly enjoy the rush it gives me. The warmest shower that I've taken during that time was last summer in Albuquerque, NM where the temperature was over 100 F the previous day. It was slightly warm on the coldest setting and it just didn't feel right. Cold showers don't even feel cold anymore. Especially in the summer.

Called a scotch shower. I do the same. I can't finish a shower without turning on the cold. In Canada in winter, the cold is very cold. Our water lines are buried below the frost line and don't freeze, but are always close to freezing. Usually 3 to 4 feet.

This channel is inspired by stoicism and the stoics we’re inspired by Diogenes. I’d consider him one of the originators of stoicism with Zeno. Similar to cold showers, Diogenes would hug cold statues in the freezing cold and roll in the hot sands in the blazing heat. He rejected conventionality and pursued virtues like courage, truth, and strength. He practiced what he preached and is said he have inspired Socrates and Alexander the Great. Alex is quoted saying “if I were not Alexander the Great, I would be Diogenes” his wit is shape and probably one of the first trolls. He gets a bad rap for being unkept but Socrates was known for having a dirty beard and toga too. “It’s not that I am mad, it is only that my head is different from yours” Diogenes

Dude you got some minor misinformation on the content. I'm Indonesian and I live in Bandung but I always have a shower with warm water since I was a kid and so do my friends and family. I'm sure most of the hotels and apartments are also using warm water, but I know the reason many people here use cold water is just because they can't afford a water heater but it's good for them though. I have a very dry skin because of showering with warm water so my doctor said that I should use cold water. I used to felt about being lazy and weak because of the fear of facing the discomfort of using cold water but now I'm getting more motivated after watching this. Thanks for ur nice video!

What works for me most is to simply say "it's not cold" and it becomes a lot easier to start. "Cold" is relative. The other trick is trying not to resist the cold, but giving in to it, without muscle tension.

Lmao probably b/c it felt like an obligation, something you HAVE to do in order to have a better life, not something you willingly choose to do to improve yourself. Don't beat yourself up, they aren't for everyone. It's more of a mental thing. There are more ways than one to get out of your comfort zone and the added health benefits you can get from just being a healthy person. You don't have to make yourself miserable every morning if you don't want to lol

I’m Indonesian and I went to Catholic school so we often went to retreats for 4 days high in the mountain. It was very cold. We had to wake up in the morning at 4 and queue to take a shower (it’s 3 shared bathrooms for 50ish people) so we had no time to test the water first, you just go in the small bathroom and immediately pour the freezing water to your body. After that you’d just left shaking and definitely awake.

The principle behind all that was the philosophy of strengthening by doing something we are averse to, something you've conveyed so brilliantly. By the way, that swimming pool was Picornell?
