Jeff Lynne (who is from my home city of Birmingham, UK) is a musical genius and great producer. E.L.O. have loads of fantastic songs and they sound just as good live as they do on the studio versions. They were still touring just before the pandemic and although Jeff is 76 now and still sounds the same. I love all their songs but one of my favourites is 'All Over The World' which just makes you want to sing and dance.

Thank you for an intelligent, knowledgeable reaction. Have to say having watched many reactions over the years, i find your channel one of the very best. I know your big Beatles fans, Jeff Lynne is referred to as the fifth Beatle. Paul MacCartney chose Jeff Lynne to produce the "lost" songs of the Beatles . John Lennon allegedly said that ELO emulated the sound that The Beatles would have had if they had continued into the 1970's. During the Beatles Anthology sessions, the remaining Beatles enlisted Jeff Lynne as the producer of these recording sessions over their producer from back in the day, George Martin.

@@raymondbonington9355 Yes, you are correct. In fact ELO was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 with members listed as Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, Bev Bevan and Richard Tandy. However, since Wood's departure in 1972 the band became identified with Jeff Lynne. I think it is safe to say that ELO's huge success since 1972 can be attributed to Lynne. He IS ELO.

ELO started with classic orchestra; musicians. They played in their own tuxedos. Not so young, they earned their chops and pluck their strings from bass to violins! They pulled sounds out most people never heard before. I found their second album with Roll Over B-man and On The Third in discount racks I could afford and a year later they were all over the radio. Fun to be first on my block!
