Thanks for the driveshaft tip! I swapped one of mine to an Axial WB8 because their insert has a middle limiter ring, but I might just swap back to the Enduro shaft with your tip!

Thanks! For this scale truck conversion we're doing a full styrene body and rear bed, as well as new side sliders to match, so now.... there's much of the original truck gone!

I have a problem with the drive shaft theory . This guy is saying that you dont want the end drive shaft link close to the end of the front drive shaft . So his solution is to put in a stop in the front half of the drive shaft . Or using a screw into the rear half drive shaft . This idea will not keep the rear half from being any farther in on the front half . Now I am not an idiot . But this will only fix the problem for a short time . Then it will starts to damage the groves on the inner house of the front shaft . The real fix to this problem is for GCM to have by China Company longer rear shafts for replacement . Here is my idea of a better fix . Go and buy a rear drive shaft . Cut the inner aluminum part to length . Drill the center hole just deep enough to clear head of Allen screw into the shaft . Then drill all the way threw with a smaller bit to clear the threads in the shaft . So that the Allen screw can pass threw . Now you can mate up the both shafts and screw them together . Make sure the the mating shafts perfectly even and true . You also want to bevel the ends with first at 400 sand paper and then with 800 grit sand paper . The if you must polish them also . The good note is that you can make any length you want . Here is a good note when cutting and having true ends . Hold the shaft you want to cut in a drill and lay the drill down on a table on it's side . It would be nice if the drill is a variable speed drill . The chuck up a cut off wheel to a Dremel . With the drill turning slowly and well rested on a table in one hand . The with the other hand the Dremel running above 9,000 and inline with the work then proceed to cut off the part you need . Not done just yet . Chuck that part into the drill and do a little clean up and truing . Then finish sanding and polishing on the corners .

that works too! I commented about using the stock parts for that reason.. to get someone going quickly without purchasing new driveshafts right away. This solution has been working on our Element builds for a good long time though, so nothing catastrophic has happened at all with this.

We don't use threadlock actually. Almost never.

Will this kit work with the trailwalker edition and IFS upgrade?

The TW is the same as the others. The IFS works, yes, if you move the servo to the side plate. We are working on a kit for this.

Where can I find those cyclone/hurricane wheels? I’m recreating my 75 c10 heavy half ton I had in high school. Those wheels were on it from start to finish while I owned it.
