There’s so many awesome bucket filler books! I’m a preschool teacher and we do a lot with this concept. I made an interactive bulletin board this year. The bucket fillers club, and every time they do a bucket filling act they get a colored craft stick in their bucket. Such a good way to introduce being kind.

Kim, I haven't come across your channel in nearly two years from a vlogmas you were doing.. I was thinking of you the other day, hoping you were finished up with school and still on KZbin. I searched through my subscriptions for 30-45 minutes looking for your channel, and finally came across this channel! I am blown away by how far you have come and I am sure to turn on your post notifications to watch your journey as a teacher. I remember you working so hard, studying, and getting these videos up all the time. As I am just starting college, thinking back to those videos going on two years ago, and seeing the outcome now- I am beyond motivated!! So excited for all of your videos on teaching and such, such a unique side that few KZbinrs have to ability to show! 💛

You could take some of the edge and corner tiles from the foam floor mats you got and put a couple on the picture book bookcases, maybe wrap them in some fabric? They're so glossy, too! Black and glossy is the bane of my existence in my house! The dust and smudges are real! Good Luck😁

Also! My favorite "teacher" growing up was actually a librarian, so I think its awesome you have such a love of books too share with your kiddos!

Some of my friends are teachers and one thing they are doing is asking (on Facebook) for $9 to sponsor a student. This $9 will give a child a $1 book from Scholastic per month for the school year. I donated and a ton of other people donated and some even donated more so the kid(s) can get another book, too. We live in an area where people live month to month and there often isn't enough money for extras

I love these videos. You're so inspiring - you've inspired so many people to donate to your classroom! I hope the kids enjoy it when they're learning there! Is your library just for your class of kids, or can kids from other years in the school borrow books from it as well?

Oh my goodness, you are so loved!! I m obsessed with these videos. Just seeing everyone's generosity makes me so happy! I am so excited for you! I hope you let us know how your first day goes as well, I would love to know all about it. Also, I will finally be getting my first paycheck soon (I hope). I cannot wait to finally be able to contribute more to your classroom, you deserve it

I wish I could donate, I really really want to help and show you how much you’re appreciated. But instead, there’s a couple books that I believe you should get: Out of My Mind and The Thing About Jellyfish. I remember reading Out of My Mind in 5th grade, and The Thing About Jellyfish in either 6th or 7th. But both of those books are most definitely books you should contribute to your classroom library. I’m not much of a big reader either but those books are amazing :) Oh and I’m not quite sure what grade level these books are but I definitely believe you should get the ‘Miss Nelson is Missing!’ series, I loved when my teacher read those to me. I’m really excited for you to start and make your kids excited for learning and setting a good example, especially setting their path for life. You’ll definitely make an impact on them, Kim :) Good luck this school year!

I LOVED the boxcar children when I was younger. I was told in 5th grade by my teacher that I wasn’t allowed to read them for my book reports because they were too far below my reading level and weren’t challenging me enough and I got so mad because they were all I wanted to read.

I love all the books you have in your classroom library! I just read the book ‘The incredible book eating boy’ and I loved it. I think it reflects that reading can be fun & that by reading, you can learn a lot. I don’t know if you’ve heard of the book or not, but thought it would be a great addition to your library :)

So glad the book arrived safely. I am amazed that you are having to do so much for and in your classroom, so different from here in the UK. Am going to send you an e mail with somethings attached that might be of use to you in your library. Best wishes Fiona

I had to laugh a little at how small your meeting was. When I did my first year meetings last year there were hundreds! I’m also in the 8th largest district in the country. It’s so hard to imagine how small your school and district are!
@ElementaryInTheMitten6 жыл бұрын
My school is pretty small, but my district is actually fairly large for the area. Much bigger than some neighboring districts. The teacher retention is high which is why there isn't more new teachers each year. :) It was nice having a small group, though!
