G'day Eli, we have dozens of bakeries and cafes around Canberra, but the ones run by Vietnamese are usually the best. Australia had thousands of Vietnamese refugees after the fall of Saigon. Some of them were bakers by trade, who were taught by the French. They've since taught their children their trade, and the result is Asian food with a hint of French methods, and very delicious.

Hi Eli! The thing I understood from this video and from what I could see, that we Westerners have a wrong conception of these places which we consider them economically poor, but it is only a point of view compared to us. The reality is that it is their culture and their tradition that leads them to live in this way and I believe they should be respected and this is demonstrated by the lady who collected the rice who seemed to me to be happy with her work and her life; your American friend proves it who said he had a good travel experience in Vietnam and it is also demonstrated by the fact that you too had a lot of fun and found yourself well in that corner of natural paradise. In the end, I believe that true wealth is not measured in how much money you have or if you live in a concrete megalopolis, but it is placed in the traditions that a people maintain and practice with passion every day of their life with a smile. Thanks and nice video.

Hey @eli from Russia, I think you have learned that there is no one on the planet that works harder than a SE Asian rice farmer. Wheat farmers get support from Mother Nature, but a rice farmer gets a yield that pretty much depends entirely on the amount of work that they put into it.

Have you ever bothered to ask how she can afford to travel so much? Hint, there's no way this kind of travel is funded by KZbin ad revenue. There are two types of wealthy people in Russia, those who are oligarchs and the family members associated with them. And in order to be an oligarch or a "business owner" you must have a direct line with the Russian government. There is a wealth of speculative information about channels like this and their association with the FSB as part of psyops and propaganda campaign.

😳the Eli show is quite a production! Those broad aerial (drone?) visuals are great & deserving of another beautiful place & people, Viet Nam. I'd had a quaint but respectful introduction, now inspired know more about their people, tradition, & culture. I love going to the country, appreciating agriculture, aquatic, & rural environment. Those alpine interfaces always beautiful, even Japan hold in respect, call them satoyama. Da Nang looks exciting & safe too. Boat concert & fun on the water!😁I would thrive on their cuisine, fish, crustacean, rice, tropical fruit & veggies! Healthy & delish! While I would mention my appreciation for St Augustine & Anastasia Beach, beside the space coast of Florida, your friend is deservedly concerned & appropriately critical about such matters that imply encroachment, extraction, & else imposed upon vulnerable areas like beaches & wilderness, affecting ecology & ecosystems. Appears Viet Nam still holds environment & processes in high regard, harmoniously connects, physically & spiritually. Peace & blessings!

You have it backward. Trust but verify is what Reagan told Gorbachev. Chekhov's trust in people was enough to get him tuberculosis and death by the age of 44, so yes there are limits as to how much people can be trusted and a lot of things depend on luck, which comes in two forms. Too much trust with bad people and life becomes non-existent to the point of death.

This is totally true. Everything can seem to be wonderful 99.99% of the time, and then suddenly some criminal psycho can come out of nowhere and ruin everything. She had some kind of close call in India, so maybe she is taking precautions beyond what is evident from the videos. There is safety in numbers, so hopefully she is travelling with lots of friends and everybody can help everybody else stay safe. The harder you try at anything, the luckier you get.

@@jackieow India is totally different than Vietnam, though. Indians are like Muslims when it comes to touching and harassing women. That doesn't happen in Vietnam. Violent crime is low there, but there is theft in the bigger cities, which is probably same or less than you'd see in Paris or Italy.

Trusting people is nice, but I still prefer that trust be earned, not given to every stranger instantly. It only takes one mistake of trusting the wrong person, in a new country.
