Wij wilde liever ‘Fight for your right to party’ horen. Meat loaf was duidelijk voor een andere generatie…

The problem with this video is, it is not the whole video. The original video was a part of the serie "Top 2000 a gogo", which is broadcasted every year between Christmas and New Years Eve. In those days the Top 2000 is at a Dutch radiostation and at Dutch tv daily the Top 2000 a gogo - serie. The Top 2000 is voted by Dutch people who can vote their favorite songs of all times; the list very miscellaneous. In the tv-serie they talk about the background of the hits that are at the radiostation that day (some of the remarkable songs). In every episode they have a few of these small items about a song or artist that's part of that episode. In the serie at tv, the complete video was shown and was told about the Paradise by the dashboard light song. When I am remembering it correctly, Ellen didn't want to talk about the Meatloaf-period. So that part was covered by the reporter and was Dutch spoken. Why they cut off that part of the video? I don't know. Probably to prevent any copyright claims? Or just because that part was Dutch spoken?

If there was a genuine, bona fide vampire/horror anthem - then this was it. In fact, the tense can rightly be changed by having some film mogul latch onto its untapped potential and really running with it. One hell of a voice too. Better situation again by me half-expecting the Pat Benatar tune to be the latter quoted example. Given it's a whole new track entirely, it's a shoe in for BBC Radio 2's PopMaster segment of same name...different song. Well, almost.
