girl he is EXACTLY the person who should be teaching stefan about self control. she needs her head out of the dust and acknowledge that they're brothers who know each other really well and can take care of one another without a third party intrusion

Damon isn't stupid. Back when you two "were" in love and it "was" all unicorns and rainbows. Elena doesn't see how honest Damon is until she becomes a vampire herself. He is the right person to be teaching Stefan self-control. That's why he's the one teaching her lol. Damon has no problem controlling his bloodlust, he has a problem controlling his emotions. That's why Stefan is the one helping her after Damon gets her to flip her humanity back on. They continue to show the difference between these two brothers in storyline, some fans simply don't care to notice.

It takes Elena time to see things that Stefan keeps hidden. She has no idea that what Damon did to Kol at the MIkaelson party, Stefan actually pushed him to do. Pushed him no different than Damon pushed Stefan to feed on the woman in 3x16. Difference is... Damon actually wanted to help Stefan control his bloodlust, while Stefan pushed Damon to spiral for the sake of putting a wedge between him and Elena. Damon figures this out in Denver. Elena doesn't see it until season 4, so she assumes Damon isn't the right person to teach Stefan self-control when he is. She's blind to the fact that Stefan pushed Damon to spiral, and could've stopped him from spiraling simply by being honest, but chose not to for the sake of getting her back. He needed Damon to go back to being the bad brother because he knew if Damon didn't, he wouldn't stand a chance getting her back. Stefan's vampirism makes him a powerful beast, far more powerful than Damon. But it's Damon's humanity that consumes Elena. Stefan can't compete with it.

you won't regret it. watching for damon is kind of the reason to watch it because imo he's kind of the main character. amazing character development and chemistry with elena.

I personally preferred her as a vamp. She finally understood the thirst and predatory nature of being a vamp. Loved wen Damon was teaching her esp

I prefer her as a vampire because that's when she fully understood Damon's character, which allowed her to be with him in a way that she couldn't trust being with him when she was human. I would've loved to see them as humans together.

Yep. That's why they have a serial killer take over Stefan's body in season 7, and have him wipe out an entire college party. That's what Stefan would do if he taught Elena to feed lol.

Human Elena is insufferable. She's fucking 17/18 years old, but acts like she has it all figured out and knows more about vampires than 150+ year old vampires. I remember one scene where she tells Damon that she knows Stefan better than anyone, and I honestly just shut my laptop for a few hours out of frustration. Pretty sure that was before she knew about ripper Stefan too. I was so glad they broke up because her obsession with Stefan was so annoying and borderline psychotic. Doubt I could've finished watching the show if they had remained together.

god u are so so right about this one im gonna give u that. her character was so detestable. shes basically a psychotic to speak of honesty. the way she thinks its easy to control stefans desire for blood and persist him to stop drinking it AT ALL makes me clench my fist. she is so ignorant when it comes about vampires and honestly, the acknowledgement of knowing the salvatore brothers are in love with her blows her off the high tide and makes her think shes under control. her obsession with stefan is what made her part psychotic. not that im saying its mad to love, but she was brutally nosy and controlling. she doesnt get to make decisions for people who r way more experienced than her.

I got frustrated too about Stelena, Elena was so obsessive with Stefan it blinded her vision. Stefan was not helping claiming himself as the good guy and Damon is a monster. To me they were never pure because of how the meet and couldn't be their selves with each other

@@cacaty3262 yes they definitely couldn't be themselves with one another, they were in love with the idea of being in love with one another. stefan loved elena because she was human and he was pretending to be human and thought that would help his delusion, (and his need to deny his vampirism to avoid becoming a ripper) and she was a human version of his first love. elena loved stefan because he wasn't human, because 'he would never die' as her parents did. pretty basic psychoanalysis for their relationship and delena can't be written off as a psychological decision like that.
