@DanoSeer2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure this song goes way back to even Scotland, and it is about just life and the ups and downs and struggling to survive. Frank wasn't the writer. I don't believe anyone really knows the actual legitimate versus or original writer, but many artists originally didn't like it, and many didn't even want Elvis to record it, but he decided to do it anyway. I think Paul Anka changed some of the words too. But "E" did a great job here with his vocals as usual. He gave the tune new life.

The way Elvis arranged the song was still very close to the original but with a few twists. He definitely made it his way. I've heard him sing it several ways but in a higher octave and it really shows that he has more power and depth. 2👍🏼👍🏼 up!

Paul Anka didn't write the song! He just wrote the english lyrics to a french chanson from 1967, originally written by Claude Francois and Jaques Revaux. Sinatras version was released in 1969, two years after the original. The song was covered by over 150 other artists.
@pikkujehu4 жыл бұрын
@@alameas6358 You're right; Originally the song was titled as "Comme d'habitude" (French for "As usual") composed in 1967 by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Claude François and Gilles Thibaut. :) But Paul Anka did good job, and if you Jayy are interested in to listen, what Paul Anka has composed by himself, you should check out especially the 1962-3 versions of "Diana" , "Put Your Head On My Shoulder", Crazy Love", Tonight, my love Tonight", "Adam and Eve", etc. Also "She's a Lady" is a song written by Paul Anka in the 70's and was released on his album "Paul Anka '70s" (1970) but the most successful recording was performed by Tom Jones, and was released at the beginning of 1971.
@kimberdancer42893 жыл бұрын
FYI: the song Was actually written by Claude Francois “Clos-Clos” which Paul Anka changed to suit the American audience. The original title is Comme d’Habitude!
