I am interested too. Like to have a lighter weight quad. Please let them know that it indeed fly better with 2.5 inch arms. They may think that other aftermarket company beat them to the production of 2.5 arms. But the screw hole fitment of aftermarket arm is poor. To be unique is to produce the unibody plate you got.

The 2540s are really nice. After flying many different size micros I feel as if the 2.5 is the sweet spot in the micro world. Great video!!

Thanks Albert - Just got my 2" Baby Hawk R in the mail. Looking forward to converting it to a 2.5" with longer flight time. Saw you got three minutes 10 seconds flight time was hoping for a little longer but a lot better than 2 plus minutes. Hope they sell both the one piece frame and two piece arms.

Thanks for the review, the babyhawk r is VERY impressive even on 2 inch. On glacier ICE 450mah 3s batteries, I can get 2 minute flights but nowhere as aggressive as you show in this video and WAY more battery sag(just using batteries I had on hand). Just put on 3dpower 2.5inch arms and gemfan 2540 props and hover time went from 3 minutes to 5 minutes. Cant wait to fly it this weekend. GNB 550s look like a great battery as your flights showed minimal sag.

Hi Albert. I tried flashing 4.0.4 betaflight on the baby hawk r F3 and think I loaded the wrong fc board to choose from when choosing an update. I used (betaflightf3) and flashed it. I’m getting a flag saying no gyro and won’t allow me to arm. What is the correct option for the type of fc to pick from. ??! Please help. Thank you

On the side of the box it has tick boxes for 2" and 3" variants. The foam insert is cut for both versions. I was surprised to see a 2.5" version being tested.

They plan to release an RTF in a 3 inch size. This 2.5 inch size is an upgrade part for the 2-inch RTF. It's currently still in testing and will be released soon.

Nice! I was thinking 2.5 inch would be more effecient and lead to better flight times especially with the new props. I wonder how a 3inch version woild go? Was there enough motor cable to reach out another 0.5 inch?

Looks good Kim. I just got my 2.5" arms today. Instead of 4 individual arms it's 2 arms like a halved uni-body. I'll be using those Gemfan 2540 props as well. Did you have enough slack in the motor leads for the 2.5" mod? Thanks

The PID profile is the 1st menu item that shows up in the OSD. Almost impossible to miss it. Rate is the 3rd from the bottom on the 1st screen.

I'm very confused. I just received my BabyHawk R from Banggood yesterday, and it's unlike any others I've seen reviewed. It has the 2 inch checkbox checked, and upon inspection it is indeed setup as a 2 incher. But, the arms are all 1 peice, just like the 2.5 inch version you're showing here. I ordered an upgrade kit to replace the arms with 2.5 inchers, anticipating it having removable arms, but I don't think it's going to work. The kit has individual arms, and mine is a single plate. Very interesting.

I did the 2.5" mod, but after flying normal my motors are quite hot. I dropped D levels a lot just to try, but it didn't help. Would really appreciate some tips! I'm using the normal 2.5 gemfans.

The lowest I had P on was 40. D was down to 10 as the lowest. Im running 3S 450mAh, flew quite calmly. All four motors were warm/hot, some hotter than others. I found someone recommending to lower the D Pass Lowpass Filter setting. Changed it in Betaflight but havent tested it yet.

Try using a new set of props and see if the temps drop. It's possible one or more of the props might be unbalanced.

Mike, try the airbladeuav eclair 2.5 frame. I've got 4 of these running emax 1106 6000kv, emax f3 stack, micro sparrow and vtx03. Best with a tattu 650 3s(best power to weight battery) but anything 450-650 and can even carry an 850 if you want some extra weight to throw around. I've got a fleet of 3-5 inch quads, but these you can fly just about anywhere. My 3" with 1407 is just as angry and a 5" so can only fly them where you can fly 5". Happy Flying!

As far as batteries go, the Tattu 650mAh 75c 3s is lighter than the 550mAh one you're using (mine actually weigh 53g vs the 59g listed weight) and around the same price.
