I used to think it wasn't possible to care so deeply for someone I don't know in person. I asked my husband if he thought it was crazy that you and your family mean so much to me. He told me it wasn't crazy because you are so easy to love. You have taught me so much. Sending love and prayers from Alabama.

Me too Lynn! Jamerrill has taught me so much and is such an inspiration to me! I totally feel like she's a good friend to me and like part of my family! Jamerrill, sending you love and prayers as always from NC! ❤️ Also Jamerrill, I'm the one who talked to you last year about kidney stones because my son has been dealing with kidney stones since he was 11 and he's now 16. He's currently dealing with trying to pass one now as I'm typing this. He's due to have another ultrasound done on the 29th followed by an appointment with his Urologist because he's got a 7mm stone that's stuck up in his left kidney and unfortunately he's gotta have another surgery to remove that one cause he's been unable to pass it where it's lodged in the left kidney and will not budge. So my son knows exactly how you're feeling right now and knows how painful it feels. He's also on Flomax and takes Oxybutinin (they have you taking Flomax cause it helps open up the ureter for the stone to pass thru) his bladder spasms. I hate seeing my son in such horrible pain because you know as a Mama when our child is hurt we just want to make them feel better and it breaks my heart I can't fix him and take his pain away. My son was born with a hereditary condition to where his body produces the kidney stones and he'll have to deal with this problem of having kidney stones for the rest of his life. I pray you're able to pass your stone but from all our experiences that's very rare to pass one that big. The largest my son has had before was an 11mm! Either way if you can pass it or end up having surgery you're in my prayers! Yes our Urologist says to move as much as possible and not only drink at least a gallon of water a day but also drink homemade lemonade and not the store bought kinds only homemade with very little sugar! FYI: it's very important to drink bottled water and read the ingredients carefully cause not all of them are good for you. A lot of them have sodium and different types of minerals and such that aren't good for kidney stones so be extra careful you check that or you could be drinking so much water you feel you could float lol and it's not helping you pass the stone at all. I know this is a long comment but I really hope you read it and it helps you some. 😁❤️

I have planted onion and peppers with my tomatoes this year. I have a mini version of your garden in my back yard! (We have like .33 of an acre of property in a neighborhood, so just using what we have.) But I'm so proud of it! I grew it all from seed, and this year has been so productive. I planted so many seeds thinking some of them wouldn't make it, and I think I ended up with something like 95% germination rate, so we are going to have so much! So excited to get to eating and storing! We also used cracked buckets, cloth bags, and old baby bathtubs along with 4 raised beds. It so much fun and so rewarding! Praying for a plentiful harvest for you, me, and anyone else growing their own food!

Thinking of you Jamerrill! I wanted to share that I suffered with kidney stones many times and have had surgery on both kidneys because of them. I started taking Potassium Citrate (Dr Prescribed) 30 MG per day and haven't had any stones since. I know how awful it is to be suffering with this and hope that you are through it soon.

I used to have kidney stones. The last stone I had was removed by surgery. I started doing some research and found out that lemon juice is wonderful for preventing kidney stones. I love lemons so adding it to my daily regime was easy. Sometimes I use the lemon juice with baking soda for joint pain and sometimes I just make lemonade with stevia. Haven't had a kidney stone in over 20 years. I feel so badly that you are dealing with such pain. It's almost as bad as having a baby except you don't have the baby in the end. lol Praying you pass this stone and don't have to have surgery again. Thank you for sharing.

Lemon only helps certain types of stones but can contribute to making other types. That's why it's important to know which type you form and also to do a 24hr urine test. Not everyone needs the citrate.

High oxalate foods my dr told me to avoid were spinach and rhubarb. I used to eat quite a bit of spinach(I'd throw it in a smoothy or casserole or eggs). He said the rest of the stuff on the list is fine as long as you eat it in moderation and try to eat low fat dairy often with your meals (the calcium binds with the oxolate in your stomach so you poop it out and prevents it from continuing to your kidneys to build up and form a stone). I haven't had spinach or rhubarb more than once a year since then and I eat dairy daily now and I haven't had another stone. Hope you find out what's causing yours!

High oxalate foods also create kidney stones. So if you eat a lot of "healthy" foods, like spinach, beets, sweet potato, and almonds, you're going to have a lot more issues with kidney stones. I speak from experience lol.

I feel for ya, I have 4th stage CKD along w/chronic issues w/my bladder, I have to take Flomax/Tamulosin daily as a result. I’ve never had a kidney stone, thank goodness but I do have chronic kidney disease that reeks havoc in my body and has had me at deaths door several times, in renal failure, over the past 4yrs and it was all brought on my me consuming protein shakes and bars as meal replacements for 2 meals a day in hopes of losing weight over a 4 month period😳 I never knew that the protein shakes/bars could effect your kidneys but they did to me and my bladder was damaged as a result, it became paralyzed so I now have to take Flomax the rest of my life as well as other meds for my kidneys. I hope I never know the pain of kidney stones bc I’ve heard they’re very painful. I’m praying for you to pass 2022 and feel better soon, you’re such a sweet soul who helps so many, be well my friend and take care of yourself🙏♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️

FYI for anyone in similar situation. If you have salt water softener do not drink that water unless it is filtered by a reverse osmosis system. Reason I’m saying that is when hubby and moved into our new house we were drinking a ton of water because it was In the month of June here in Florida, so very hot!. Anyway by August hubby ended up with. Kidney stone! I looked it up and you should not drink water from you house facuet because of the salt water softener system for well water. We drink bottled water now which we get from local water man that is filter through reverse osmosis system just 25 cents a gallon by the way. Way cheaper than bottled water at the store. We have not yet invested money in a reverse osmosis system for the house. Some day!

Use a Brita pitcher for your treated well water. That what we did at our house in the mountains that we had a salt based water treatment system. Before running it through the filter, it would taste as salty as what you would use to gargle with. After filtering, it tasted like the fresh spring water my grandparent had on their farm (what my mom grew up drinking) ..... it was never filtered ..... and no one ever got sick from it.

2 options for distilled water. 1 a counter top water distiller. They work... I have one. Second option is a zero water filter. It comes with a water parts per million tester and takes the water down to 0 parts per million... same as distilled. They are really reusable on amazon. Just buy extra filters. The cool thing is you can test the ppm of your well water before you run it through the filter. Side note... they are good options. Some had trouble getting distilled water for things like cpap machines in 2020. It was almost as hard to get as bathroom tissue for some people. That is why I wanted to give you options.

I can absolutely feel your pain with the hospital stuff. I've been battling chronic pancreatitis for nearly a year and it has been ROUGH. It started randomly about a year ago, led to a gallbladder surgery (which turned out to not be the cause), and then several trips to a specialist. I've had a stent placed and removed from a splinter near my bile duct, and ended up having that same sphincter cut to HOPEFULLY prevent any further issues, especially with spasming. It's been a very rough year but I am hoping that I am on the other side. Wishing you well and that your medical journey is coming to an end as well!

My last one as of Thursday was 12 mm x 7 mm, no help from doctors/hospital. I likely overdid the pain meds but it only really hurt for 8-10 hours (overnight), was mainly a light crampy feeling for about a week prior (has been “normal” lately, until they get stuck right before the bladder). I’ve had 100’s of stones with 20+ surgeries (a scope/laser deal).

I have had numerous calcium oxalate kidney stones through the years. The pain and nausea you have when it’s moving is called kidney stone colic. It’s very real! I am praying for you! ❤️🙏🌺

I also had a 5 mm stone travel through my tube I kept for 38 days trying to get it to pass but I went in and the silly thing turned the corner at bladder opening on the prep table at the hospital!! Dr said he just had to reach and get it simple yeah to him. He had already done three procedures before me and I got there at 6 am . I have been through two csections and it was the worst thing I’ve ever had to face . So I hope it goes smoothly for you this time . Maybe you e passed it by now it’s the 15 Wednesday June 2022! I’m sorry your having to go through this terrible thing . I don’t care to ever have another one of those things !

Jamerrill, if you can go to a Naturopathic doctor, I highly suggest it! My husband (and most of his family) dealt with kidney stones for many years, and he's also young like you. All of the regular (well meaning!) doctors put him on strict diets with low oxalate and calcium. But the naturopath took a different approach and balanced his body out using various supplements which caused his body to no longer create stones!!! Hallelujah! Pray about this, but I strongly suggest getting their opinion of you haven't yet. Praying for you!

Urology nurse practitioner here. Ask for a metabolic workup, including a 24 hr Litholink urine. This can give some additional insight as to stone prevention. Also have the kids use a kitchen fork to scratch your hogs. It has a sedative effect on them.

They did a 24 hour urine in summer 2021. Is the litholink urine any different? Also, have you seen a connection with patients using collagen? And psychoanalyzing anything I ever eat or drink, collagen is something I’ve added in daily for the last few years that’s new. Thank you for any thoughts!

Chanca piedra, girlfriend! I have the CT scans to prove it works. I jumped up and down a lot to move one once too. It's miserable. That's the only time I've ever vomited from hurting so badly. Praying for you!! 🙏❤️

I am so sorry that you have a stone and was so sick. My son has had stones since he was in his early 20’s. His are calcium stones. He passes most of his but he has had to have some removed. He drinks lots of water and walks a lot. So painful. Praying you can pass this stone and that you have no more. You are such a blessing to so many, me being one of them

I'm praying for you and your family. Years (many) ago I was told that my kidney had been damaged by a growth that was subsequently removed. After every surgery I had ( appendix, hysterectomy etc) there were issues in recovery from anesthesia. The doctors all advised me and my family that it wasn't unusual because of my kidney damage. I'm always watching how much fluids I drink, as dehydration can occur so rapidly. Your description of your pain is right on target. When I feel nauseated and have back pain I am usually dehydrated or on verge of dehydration. After multiple ER visits or having to go to the doctor for IV infusion therapy I don't wait to start chugging fluids...now that I am in my late 60s my daughter is constantly checking to see how much I have had to drink. She also has the grandkids on drink duty..lol All to say I truly feel your pain. Hope your summer goes easier.

Tip: mulch your garden bed with hay or something similar too help with keeping moisture in the soil on those hot days and it helps with adding nutrients to the plants..

Does hay add nutrients to the soil??

Hay and straw are contaminated with grazon and will kill your garden.

Hi Jamarrill, I’m so happy your feeling better. I’ve never had kidney stones but I’ve heard their extremely painful. Hopefully this will be your last one. Your garden looks great, can’t wait to see all the nice vegetables. My garden is very small compared to yours but I never gardened before and wanted to try it out this year and if it works out I’ll plant more next year. Ok well have a nice trip. See you soon!!!

I might come across as brusque, but you need to do something with those plants in the raised beds, the soil looks very dry and deficient. I would recommend applying compost and at minimum mulching the beds (coming from an avid gardener who has hot summers). Your crops will love you for it ☺

I'm so sorry you're dealing with a stone! I know how it feels - I honest to God had a CT scan yesterday for what seems to be a current stone. And I had one a few years back and needed the ureteroscopy surgery too. It is no fun! I pray you're better. It's so hard with kids and chores and then all of the sudden these knock you out of nowhere. God Bless :)
