While I'm sure he was banned from library this happened in, I doubt even they got a notice of this global ban. It's along the lines of "don't leave town" as a bond stipulation; you're basically forbidden from every other state/town.

For example; can openers, tablet arm desks (these always pissed me off in school), spiral notebooks, writing left to right, playing guitar, power tools, etc. And the worst one in my opinion, sitting at the dinner table. I’ve taken the habit of waiting to choose a seat when my family goes to a restaurant because they always have to strategize where I sit so I don’t end up constantly bumping elbows with them. Walter Summerford was a real guy and was supposedly struck 3 times. The following has been told for years but it's questionable how true it is: The first time was in 1918 while serving on the front of WW1 in Belgium. He was paralyzed from the waist down. In 1924, he was on a fishing trip and sitting under a tree when the tree was struck, with some of the energy travelling through him, as he was leaning against the tree to remain upright. He was relatively unharmed, likely because the tree took the majority of the hit. In fact, two days after being struck the second time, he started being able to use his legs again (tho from what I understand it wasn't a full recovery) Finally, in 1930, he was out on a walk on what had been a sunny day, but the weather had changed. This time when he was struck, he was left fully paralyzed, but survived still. He lived 2 years longer, and supposedly was (understandably) very paranoid and panicked about getting struck by lightning again by the time of his death. Now for the facts: In 1936, his gravestone was hit by lightning, shattering it. We do have pictures of it at least, so this part is true for sure. Here's the thing though: the Walter Summerford on the gravestone is listed as having died in 1912, not 1932. Maybe the whole thing's made up, maybe there were multiple Walters, maybe the gravestone was inaccurate. It probably was just a tall tale dreamed up by some newspaper, but we can't say for sure.
