I really like this idea, although I would make just a couple changes to be a little more accurate to the Elote I've always had. (I grew up on the border and my family is from Chihuahua) I would maybe use like half of the mayo that she used, and use another tbsp of butter. I also don't think I would use Monterrey Jack on it either I would just stick with more Cotija (The crumbly cheese she used at the end) I would put on WAAAAAY more Lime. Instead of Tajín, as much as I love it I would just use Cayenne pepper or some other Chile powder. (Unless you wanted to go full tex-mex and replace it with Crushed Takis or Hot cheetos). Either way this idea is SUUUUPER great.

The original recipe called for crema fresca which is a type of thick buttery sour (slightly) cream. Adding mayo was an American/California change since the fresca was more expensive than mayo. The taste difference is pretty huge and the crema fresca is superior once you add the parmesan cheese as the two blend their tastes well together. I would even put regular sour cream over mayo as it had the sour taste you're looking for that has to be caked on with the tajin. The corn was also roasted not boiled which really brings out the sweetness of the corn.

@@pr4208 @NAYA ROSIE you're body needs nutrition. Fasting can occur for spiritual reasons, which is understandable, but talk to a doctor before fasting. It can be dangerous, especially for women. E.g., hormone dysregulation. But on top of that, it can lead to fainting, nutrition deficiencies, etc. Drastic weight loss can stop your period. If it's just for weight loss, call it what it is. Its STARVATION. It's a yoyo diet. It is highly likely you will not keep the weight off because your body needs food. Weight loss needs to be a lifestyle change, and takes time. You cant maintain always fasting to keep your weight off, it leads to a scarcity mindset and eating disordered behaviours.

This looked very fascinating... until the mayo came into play. I'm just not sure about that. The thought of mayo on ramen gives me the heebie jeebies.

that's coward talk! No but seriously don't knock it 'til you try it. I went through a Hellmanns phase that I blame my excess weight on to this day years later.

@@DaniJHollis No you're absolutely right. I like just about EVERYTHING and would for sure try everything at least once. I do like mayo so I don't know why I got a bit squeamish about the mayo bit! I wonder if it's because of the sound the mayo'ed up noodles made. Hahah.

Maybe some sour cream instead of mayo? I can’t handle that much mayo 🤢

If you decide to make this or anything alike: use only helmans mayonnaise, other brands don't work that well, and don't add it as much as in video, I add on one ramen block about less than one tablespoon, the cheese adds a whole other level of flavor, but just ramen with mayonnaise works perfectly fine.

💯 points for the way you pronounce "Elote" 🌽

It looks so good but my heart almost stopped from all that cholesterol you put in there. And then you added lime and corn and I could breathe again.

I never understood why Mexicans love street cart elotes. Mayo on corn? 🤢

Mayo on corn is delicious.

The mayo and cheese combine into a rich, creamy foil to the corn’s sweetness. Add lime and chili powder on top, and it’s sublime!

The mayo flavor mixes with the cheese and spices so you don't taste it.

You don't even taste the mayo... If you don't tell people they don't even know it's there. I've also seen people use crema if you don't like mayo, maybe try that.
