Managing our emotions is one of the most difficult and complex skills we will ever achieve. Hello Karli and family, I am so sorry you lost your lovely boy, thank you for sharing those beautiful photos and videos. The best thing we can do for our non-human family members is to give them a wonderful life filled with love, which you did. Like you, I am prepared and no longer turn to junk food or overeating in times of stress, I haven't done so for over 2 and a half years so I feel I've learnt to manage my eating after decades of bingeing, yo-yo dieting and being obsessed with food and cravings that literally kept me up at night. Sticking to a WFPB way of eating no matter how stressful your life is gives you a sense of balance, calm and confidence that helps you deal with the difficult times.

This is a great video, thank you and I'm so sorry for your loss. As an emotional eater, something that has really helped me is to learn about emotions and what they are so you can put a name to the feeling. If you google plutchniks wheel of emotion or emotional wheel is a good place to start. Thanks again Karli

@Naturally Karli thank you for responding :) I think there was research where if you name the feeling eg I am feeling X right now ( rather than I am X), you can work through it quicker. Love to you and yours, especially at this time xx

Yes! I've read a lot about the effectiveness of that tactic as well. I try to use these tools as often as I get the opportunity but it's hard to remember in the moment when emotions are high. Thanks for the addition💜

Personally- I favor the hormone free methods like the copper IUD. There's no weight gain involved but all the methods have drawbacks.
