It is sometimes easier to buy in the market but I guess it is fun to make ourselves. It is the process that counts! I can teach my kids how to make it too! It can be quite educational! Thanks for sharing!
I made tofu once in elementary school for a science class but we boiled the beans before grinding to make the soy milk. I still boil the beans first and blend them with a tablespoon of roasted sesame and raw pine nuts for more flavor. Then I season it with a dash of salt rather than sugar for an "unsweetened" version. As for the cooked grainy sediment, I either chew and swallow it with the soy milk or separate and add it to spicy stew.

Although tofu is widely available in Western supermarkets, the majority are almost as hard as bricks. Where I live Asian supermarkets are not around the corner. I miss the handmade fresh tofu in Hong Kong. Thank you for the recipe

Mama Cheung, thank you for another informative episode! Here in the United States, tofu has become so popular (due to health consciousness) that it is readily available in most supermarkets. Needless to say, it varies in quality and is never as good as homemade. 🇺🇸
