Engine Oil Change DIY + Liqui Moly Engine Flush for My F30 BMW 335i N55

In this video I do the first oil change for my 2014 BMW 335i with the N55 engine. In addition I use Liqui Moly Proline engine flush to clean the engine internals with the oil change.
NOTE : I am not a professional or certified mechanic or an expert. I do this as a hobby in my free time. Perform this job at your own risk!

The most important thing to mention is the oil type that your owner's manual specifies which is BMW Longlife-01. Your Liqui Moly 5W-30 has BMW LL01 listed.

You should do a review on Liqui moly molygen and how it does in your bmw, I’ve used it in my Nissan and you can hear and feel a difference, I would say it’s definitely worth the money

My BMW 320d have not been giving me major issue until recently the heavy carbon issus with 145k km. The engine cap has black carbon powder and the pipe outside also has the black carbon powder. The smelling is bad inside the car. Thank for your video.

Is this a full synthetic blend oil that comes with the kit from fcp and how much oil did you put in the car?

Yes it is full synthetic. And I put 6.5 Liters

Im thinking about using the Engine flush as well, I bought my car used at 50k mileage 13' 335i, Im at 88k now, I've doing oil changes at every 4-5k miles. How hows your engine been doing since the engine flush? Is it smoother? better mileage?

The engine has been running excellent. I have the engine tuned now with E85 so the gas milage has gone down a bit. I Couldn't tell you if it would improve gas milage if it wasn't tuned. But the engine puts out the power incredibly smooth. The power curve was near perfect when I took to the dyno. Haven't had any sort of engine issues. I feel like the engine flush isn't really necessary but it just gives you piece of mind that the engine is as clean as it could be. Feel like you will only see a major difference if the car has like 150k+ miles on that hasn't had the oil changed that often.

Idk if your you did it or not but the only step id say you missed was that the car is supposed to be at Operating Oil temps, then add the Engine Flush and let idle for 10 mins, Then drain.

I did let the engine warm up before putting it in I just cut it in the video to make shorter. 👍

do you think it is safe i can drive 15 min after i pour engine flush into my engine or my car has to be idle about 15 min before oil change?

I think it states, NOT to drive with engine flush in the engine. You're going to want to idle for 10-15 min, than drain the oil.

So I'm curious. What was your mileage, and have you performed this process again, since doing this? Did you have any strange issues or new leaks show up, after doing this service?

I had 65k when I did this. I’m at 70k now so I’m about to do another oil change. But just an oil change not the engine flush again. And no the engine has been running great since and I haven’t noticed any new leaks.

So I just finished mine, and I need a shower. Lol the heat! I can't believe I managed to do that without burning myself, or splashing liquid hot magma all over my pan, floor, shielding, whatever. Without a hitch.... But.... I did mine differently. I drained the hot engine, refilled with the LQM flush and clean Castrol syntec. Ran the engine at heat for 15 min. (Forgot to keep track of time) drained the engine. Refilled after checking the new oil filter, and added their Ceratec friction modifier. Mind blown. All that ticking you hear in the background of your video. Same on my engine .. gone. It's so quiet, that it's weird. Really amazing. About to go clean and drive it. I'm curious if I can feel a difference, since the mechanical has audibly changed. 👍👍

I’m wondering what liquid Molly oil to purchase for my 335i there are so many different packages on fcp euro, do you think this is the best one to use 5w-30 special tec or should I try the blue 5w40 ? I live in Cali so the weather isn’t anything too crazy if that helps. Thanks again enjoy the vids to help me with my build.

Yeah I would just recommend you use the one I used in this video 5w-30 special tec! I use this same kit on both my BMWs for the last few years here in So Cal.

Given the amount of oil used, 1 bottle of liqui moly engine flush is not quite enough solution to achieve optimal cleaning. It would require 1.5 bottles roughly.

Yeah I was wondering to. Bottle is good up to 5L. I'm thinking 1.5 bottles but I'm wondering if that's to much liquid since you're technically overfilling your oil at that point by like 750ml.

@@TheMidnightNarwhal well remember that it’s only running at idle for 10 minutes before draining. It’s not meant to be run for an entire oil change duration.

@@michaelcarney7299 For sure. Another thing that came to my mind is since I have an oil cooler some of the mixed additive will inevitably stay in but I guess that's fine to. Might ask liquy moly directly.
