What I don't understand is why OP didn't immediately forward the email sent from the university email address to the actual university. The university would have been falling over themselves to do damage control at that point. For clarification, by sending it from the university email address it technically made the university a party to the legal threat. At that point the problem would have solved itself.

This was actually really irritating to listen to. I did not feel good after listening to this story. The OP is just a doormat and continued to be a doormat throughout. It astounds me how much of an idiot the OP actually is. For goodness sake, he actually lent his expensive tools to the entitled neighbor's contractor because he showed up without them. So not only does he let the neighbors run over him, but also their incompetent help. My god. There isn't a shiny spine to be seen anywhere. I pity the OP's kids. OP is a push over. When the entitled dad sent that email from his university account, he should have reported him to the university. When OP's child was attacked, it at least triggered a reaction from him but he was still too reasonable. For such people, when you give an inch, they take a mile. Sure, OP may get off being abused and mistreated by the entitled family, but his son didn't sign up for it and didn't want it. Yet every action he took (and didn't take) guaranteed his family would suffer for his pleasure. And you cannot convince me otherwise that this as a weird kink for OP. It might be helpful to report his conduct to the President and Deans of whichever university at which Mr. Entitled teaches. He may have tenure, but he can still be fired as long as they hold a hearing to hear and examine the evidence against him. I believe the term "Gross Misconduct" would apply, particularly because OP has proof that Mr. Entitled made statements in his emails to OP that were patently false and misleading showing that Mr. Entitled was either lying and thus in violation of the tenents of the law school, or so terribly ignorant of the law he should never been hired to teach at a University School of Law in the first place, let alone awarded tenure at that establishment. It needs to be noted here that Mr. Entitled has apparently not been accepted to the Bar in the State of California, only accepted to the Bar in the State of New York, since he never speaks of being a member of the California Bar, only the New York Bar. Surely a law school professor should be capable of passing the Bar Exam of the state in which he teaches law, but Mr. Entitled seems not to have done so.

Could it, perhaps, be because you ARE a push over who will acquiesce to EVERYTHING, even to his own son and property's detriment? Like, if he gets off on the ENF controlling him and taking everything he has, fine, that's his kink. But to force it on his son is ridiculous and just teaches the son to be equally as weak and useless. When I first started working out of medical residency I had a family from the same group that shall remain unnamed as this family. They were very difficult to deal with. I asked another very experienced doctor who belonged to the less orthodox part of this religion and he told me that he would take them off my hands this time, but in future this is how people like this (whatever group they may belong to) should be handled. First, YOU are in charge. Then, they are allowed to ask questions, but they are not allowed to QUESTION you. And most importantly, NEVER negotiate. They see negotiation as weakness. Guess what? It works! Even when you aren't in a position of power like being their doctor. Too often people are so concerned with being polite that they don't recognize that the other person has no such constraints. When these neighbors first started with their bs, OP should have immediately pushed back and gotten a very aggressive lawyer immediately, and gotten the property surveyed immediately. Then kept a record of every little thing they were doing. Each time they ran over his yard, a letter sent certified to their home or to the husband's work address if they wouldn't pick it up at home. A record of every harassment, especially to his children, would be made, and a police report filed for the time the mother scared his children. He should have been the first one to file a restraining order with the amount of evidence he had, and once granted, which it would be, they would be forced to move from their home. Sure, it seems like a lot of work and very petty, but you see the outcome if you don't.

Just started watching this. Stoked for the long video!!! Remember people tall fences make for great neighbors. Edit to add: HOLY CRAP!!! Could not be me. OP was entirely too nice. Giant fence installed along entire property line on their side out of concrete blocks and reinforced with steel. Would have had cops out with surveyor to observe property line, torn out the part of his driveway that crossed the property line, and replaced with said wall. Probably would need to be the maximum allowable height. I would have made these people hate me by how to the letter I managed my property. The giant wall would have kept all his water runoff on his property too and removed access to my French drain. 🤣 🤔 Side note…with all those emails professor law sent that were his attempts to poorly represent the law as an intimidation tactic I wonder if OP could have gotten him disbarred by reporting gross incompetence, untruthful representation of law, or something to the state bar. Might have cost him his job since some states don’t allow disbarred attorneys to teach.

Entitled orthodox Jewish families like these infuriate the ever-loving shit out of me. And to be clear, I am Jewish, was raised entrenched in the Jewish community of my hometown, and have orthodox family. In Judaism there's something called "hilul hashem/חילול השם", literally translates to "desecration of God". What it refers to is flaunting your religion as you commit reprehensible acts so those acts become associated with your religion. So like... the neighbours the entire time in this story. The entitlement of this family is infuriating enough, but the fact they gladly want to associate their entitlement with antisemitic stereotypes is fucking vile.

I think this is fake. No one would tolerate this much shite without suing those neighbors. No one would be that patient.

Also too much detail for stuff that has gone on for years and OP seems to know a lot about legal jargon, landscaping, and even the religious details but doesn’t call the cops, bylaw enforcement, or a lawyer soon enough to settle the problems.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it, but the joke at 1:38 (“You See, the Berkeley Bay Area…”) is that the school is the University of California Berkeley. Or more commonly, UC Berkeley. You see… UC lol. It’s very famous for its law school among other things *fixed the time code! And Mark, you were spot on in how you pronounced Berkeley!
