In criminal psychology people who have used past tense to describe someone missing are deemed to be suspicious in that they are eluding to the idea that the person is dead. In this case the entrepreneur is alive and well. We are watching him on KZbin. Therefore the correct statement is, he is a nice chap. To say he 'was' implies he is no longer nice, through conduct or death
