Gentlemen, I know you are skeptical if you came across as "polished" enough for you first podcast. I learned more in this 20 minute conversation than I have in 20 years of trying to "fix" myself, and now I know why those attempts didn't work. After working with dozens of physiotherapists and personal trainers, I can say with certainty I've never heard anyone address joints or stabilty other than in relation to "your core". I've never had anyone talk about aging and fitness in such a positive light with reasonable expectations. This was incredibly eye-opening and has made me question my entire mindset regarding not only where I am, but where I can get to. So, yes, you will get more comfortable with the podcast format, but it won't shock me in the least if Episode 1 is the one that changes the most lives. TL;DR: Brilliant work and thank you.

I live in Alaska. Having been a former athlete, injuries (fall down a flight of cement stairs) and COVID have put my exercise to almost non existent. Don’t know how many surgeries later… I am starting over at 62! I started working out but backed off due to re-injuring the surgical joints. I did the 7 days of awesome and purchased the entire SMM series EVEN THOUGH I’m not to level 2 or 3 yet! But… I am confident I can get my strength back so I can fish!!! So, thank you for my daily dose of positivity to you, Jenny and your entire staff! 🤗 p.s. Yes! I’m still sore and am embracing “the suck”!!!

Thank you for all your fitness information ! I recently got back into training / stretching/ working out after years of not working out! When I was in my 20s I was in great physical health! Now in my 50s I knew I had to change the bad habits that I fell into ! Wow it was a bit difficult at first but being consistent and reminding myself that it wasn’t a competition, and I could do this at my own pace and build up my strength gradually, helped me deal with the initial challenge! Thank you for your podcast, I thought it was great , you guys are awesome ❤keep up the good job!

"Am I moving my joints like joints?" is a great question to keep at top of mind. Thanks for that! I always find it very helpful to have a stock of concise phrases like that to keep me mindful of what I'm striving for. Bonus line: "If you're not expending energy trying to compensate, you have more energy to work with". Absolutely!

This was really interesting to listen to. What I would be interested in going deeper into that theme: 1. How do I find out what's wrong? (So as you say, test joints) 2. How do I get the right exercise (you covered this 3. How do I put it into practice. (This is the hard part). Little by little obviously, I guess?

Go see a physiotherapist and ask for whole body assessment. That way the physio can tell what you need working on. Then go from there. Go see exercise physiologist who can give you exercises base on your goal. The right exercise exist at that current time base on your capabilities. Manage your expectations as it will take a long time and most people can’t handle that. What i mean by that is their words is not aligned with their actions.

Nice info... Talking about not overdoing it: My coach in Olympic lifting is the one guy that barely has athletes go over 85% ...maybe 1x every 3-4 weeks, and other coaches think he sucks. Very few big blowout squat days. People's front squats are only a little better than they can clean since you don't need it much better. Don't overdo it and hurt your athletes/throw off technique due to an unnecessarily macho squat day. Guess which coach has all the state/regional champ athletes? The max out every week guys or my guy? 😁

I like your comments about starting with just 5 minutes of moving my neck, shoulders etc when I first get up in the morning. I think I need to back up to that point and work towards a full program.
