Just dropping in to mention for the 370th time: the solo monocular was not mentioned and should be the star as the stocking stuffer that's always with you but never bought yourself. For the person who has it all.

My favorite optics piece by far. A total shame they never bring it up almost like they wish it didn’t exist

As a British emigre, I particularly appreciated Marks use of the term “chuffed”. If any of those items found their way into my stocking on christmas morning, that’s exactly what I’d be! The only thing I REALLY want in my stocking is a Vortex podcast hoody… Love the content, keep it up guys!

I can attest to the surprising perfection of the Bantam Binoculars! Got a set for my daughter and ordered myself a set hours after looking through her pair. Perfect Binocular for hunting in the woods. If you’re looking at Deer within 200yards these are perfect! They do everything my more expensive 8x42’s do at half the weight. And this podcast just sold me on a Crossfire Spotting Scope, for my Christmas gift to me! Looks like the perfect shooting bench optic to help my aging eyes see bullet holes.

After watching the what not to bring 10 min talk before the 9 day WI gun hunt, and hearing Mark rocked the same socks the whole hunt. I decided to test Mark's idea. Definitely not my normal sock wearing ritual but after 8 days and miles in muck boots over the season no smell and dry as can be. Side plug for them they are warm enough for all day ice fishing too.

Yeah, it can absolutely be done, but I’d rather have a backup pair of socks and underwear than a tourniquet.

I got my dad and father in law each a fuel can replacement spout and vent kit. I had gotten 2 and made like 6 useless modern fuel cans into good old 90s style properly vented with flex spouts and caps. It changed my fuel can life. Now I've got like 10 completely useful cans.

Just bought the Defender ST 6MOA for my Canik TP9SFx and the Viper HD 2-10x42 for my brand new Tikka Superlite 6.5 CM. They arrived this weekend… Christmas came early this year!

You guys have me thinking about getting a set of binoculars now! A topic I'd love to see discussed down the road: hunting rifle stock material selection from a utilitarian point of view. I want to understand what the functional differences are between laminate, wood, plastic, fiberglass, etc. Is laminate less durable? How much maintenance does a wood stock really require? Does that camo coating offer better protection than the non-coated version of rifle X? I can think of a few desirable attributes of a stock: stiffness (barrel consistency from offhand w/ sling vs prone, etc.?), surface durability, maintenance requirements, cost of manufacture/replacement, brittleness or toughness in cold climates, thermal expansion, ease of modification, and functional density (monolithic vs hollow cast/molded structurally reinforced). Of course, just because something is 'more X' it may not mean 'better'. i.e. for my 300 WM, I don't want a super light stock! I start to flinch at around 8.5 lbs, so am happy with a scoped rifle weighing ~9.5 lbs+. I assume today's manufacturers already spend a ton of resources choosing where to draw the line on diminishing returns.

The Diamondback HD 10x42 binoculars for $149 is the best deal I have seen this season on a vortex item.

Have the socks been widely distributed? I hope to show up at my favorite retailer and find myself stocking up on stocking-stuffing stalking stockings, as long as they are stocking them.

I like Vortex. I have lots of nice glass from you. I like your podcast. I have learned a lot from you. It is time to do patriot things, friends. There will be time to buy more shiny things down the road.

I’ve never ponied up for a spotting scope, the crossfire really tempts me at that price point. I think people way under estimate those 8x32s, I’ve never felt under glassed and man are they nice to carry

Any links you could provide in the description to the items?

I'm hoping for a Diamondback duo ... the HD 10x42 binoculars and the HD 2000 rangefinder. That would be perfect in my stocking!!

Please do a cartridge talk/lead ballon video on the .338-06. There are ZERO professional videos on the cartridge on you tube (just a few private videos of guys that own one). Would be great to see where it stacks up in the market of cartridges

So since I'm not a binoculars expert, why is the resolution in the 10 power not as good as the 8 power....shouldn't they be the same since the glass is the same?
