I know that this video is from 7 years ago but, me and my sister used to play this game on the wii for hours upon hours. We probably don’t remember all of the finer details about what we disliked but we loved this game a lot. Even though it’s a 7 year old game we still hope for a third.

Most likely. You don't even need to play the game to spot multiple problems. also when you play or watch the game online you can see that the game wasn't as creative as the first, game play wise. That last sentence wasn't my opinion.

Dyl-NofDongos The game wouldn’t really have been that much better if it weren’t rushed. The game barely expands on the world of Wasteland. What about the forgotten characters after Walt? There’s probably tons more of them. Doesn’t Wasteland perhaps have more regions, like shown in concept art?

I enjoy this game. When I play with my family I have one rule; I'm Oswald. My sis and I beat the main story together, and we had fun pointing out all the nods to Disneyland and forgotten cartoons. Out of all the Epic Mickey games, the first is still my favorite, but I'll pop Power of Two in every once in awhile.

Everything she complains about is absolutely true. I'm still on Episode 1 and I've already encountered almost all the problems she mentions. Camera angles are horrible. Oswald doesn't respond to anything and disappears a lot. Co-operating with him is a nightmare. Targeting objects other than monsters is too difficult etc. And there is another problem that also bugged me. There are puzzles and usually two solutions to them, one is good and one is bad-which you get punished for choosing- but the game gives you no heads up before it's already too late and you do bad things without even knowing while you freely explore the levels and then some stupid shop owner says now he's going to charge you double for the goods because you did god knows what to him before you even met him LOL.

I completely agree with you. There's so much they could've done with this game that they just didn't do for whatever reason. One part that really frustrated me was when a Lonesome ghost sent some Blotlings after me when a painted Blotling defeated another one

But that all depends on what you play on I've played on the wii and on xbox birth times I've jlhad no trouble aiming there's only one scene I didn't get through but it wasn't exactly difficult in all this is a remarkable game that challenges your mind in some puzzles

Despite any of it's flaws, Epic Mickey 2 is a wonderful experience. Yes, it fails in a number of areas but the gorgeous and imaginative visuals, engaging story, and the fantastic music. Epic Mickey 2: the power of to is painfully underrated, the amount of heart put into it matches the kind put into a Disney animated feature :)

My brother and I have been obsessed with this forever! We’ve been playing all day everyday for a while now. We love it, but we always bring up “THIS GAME IS SO BROKEN” We always make fun of its errors, and we’ve had to restart our files bc it glitches us to wear we can’t spawn without dying. Today, I went to talk to one of the pirates and the game froze and made a weird sound. We couldn’t get to the Wii menu or anything! We had to shut the entire console down for the fourth time this week by unplugging the from our tv. I really wish they could make a third version with bug fixes. Edit: we also have the first one and we both agree it’s much better, but it’s not multiplayer

After loving the first, I knew this game was going to have problems due to it being on other consoles other than wii. I got the Wii version and although not as pretty controls far better with a wii remote and nunchuck. But its still has many flaws that I could overlook in the first game but this one felt less finished and is a shame that Junction Point were rushed into finishing this game so early rather than having more time to work on it. It was fun but frustrating at the same time. It had so much potential after the first and is a huge shame that there won't be an Epic Mickey 3 that can right take the best parts of the first and second and right the wrongs they both had. Overall it wasn't as good as the first but clearly had a lot of heart and soul put into it, depite its many shortcomings. Please Disney! Revive this series and get another developer to make a 3rd! :(

I remeber being obsessed with this game when I got it for Christmas on the Wii. I couldn't go any farther though as when I was playing a mission the last item I needed glitched into the map and I never got to play it again. I got it on Xbox recently and I can see how the camera and aiming are frustrating though that ironically didn't pose an issue for me when I was younger. I wish they would retry this series and apply all the tech we have now to make it an awesome combo of the existing 2.

Let me explain something to you. I am not an Epic Mickey fan. However, being a gamer, I know this. Gaming and games in general have no age restrictions. I am 19, and I enjoy games like Bioshock the same as I enjoy Sly Cooper. Anyone can pick up a game and play. It's like watching a movie or cartoons. But you are the star, you pick your choices. When I am 70 years old, if my body allows me I'll still be playing games. As long as I can hold a controller, I'll play games. It's a magical world.

This review is spot on...so mmany parts of this game just needed a bit more touching up....after how AMAZING the first one was...this one was just a tad disappointing.....although, warren specter's creative charm is still there, making the game still worth playing.

I feel that Epic Mickey needs, at least one more game. Where the camera is finally fixed, the AI controlled Oswald doesn't make you want to throw your controller out the window, and the graphics are drasticlly improved. Even if that doesn't happen, the Epic Mickey games aren't that bad. They're definitely not masterpeices, but they're still good games.

Most fail to realize the aspects this game succeeds at: visual presentation, musical score, voice-acting, content and originality. The art design featured in Fort Wasteland needs to be commended. In an era where games compete over muscles and browns, Epic Mickey 2 features much needed palette cleansers. Oswald's AI and the bosses need retooling. All in all, however, to label this game broken or awful is a lie. It succeeds in many areas, and fails too, but it's a franchise worth expanding on.

Okay, let me ask you guys a question, has ANYONE anywhere met a person who has ever said "You know, the legend of zelda and banjo kazooie games are good, but i think they should have voice acting". When spector said he would improve on all the elements, he didnt have to go overboard, all we needed was a slight camera fix, and the same amount of levels (maybe even more) and he would have a good/meh game on his hands, instead of this hot mess.

Hey there, read your comment and do agree with you. The work the developers and artists did in this game was amazing, sure some of the platforming sections wasn't as solid as it could be but I managed to work around those areas, actually didn't really pay much attention to them cause i am really enjoying this game. hope they make a part 3 and make it bigger and better. Im glad to purchase this game because its like your in a disney movie and yes the two player co op is a welcomed addition :D

Weird how I had no camera issues in the demo at all. Quick and easy 360 degree rotation with no automatic annoying "centering." I felt in full control. I guess I don't see the terrible camera. I must be blind. And Mickey lands nice and firm too after jumping. I guess I don't see the slippery platforming either.

@mdh0422 The Wii version was the first game in development. It is not a port, but more of a beta. The HD versions are ports. Still it looks good for a Wii game but the HD has better shadows and environments which they added on, but each version is still the same game.

I saw the video, and I actually played the demo. Yes, the world is amazing, but indeed the mechanics did not surprise me much. That being said, I was feeling pretty good being in a Disney world. That's what I meant by replying to that guy. I thought he was saying that any game with "kids' content" could not be played by adults which is very wrong since every man has a child inside him. Now, if the game is indeed intended for younger audience with simplified mechanics and stuff, that's different.

I was so hyped for the first one and while the first one was just an average game, it was a little embarrassing to see them do the same celebratory like interviews they did for for the original. Just bought this today at best buy for 39.99 and used 5 dollar rewards plus 20 c mas gift money and came out to like 18 dollars, popped it in and from the beginning the cg,story, just takes you in, i mean you feel like your in disneyland or something pretty good intro. The platforming is what you would expect like from mario galaxy and the puzzles are pretty good. Sure sometimes a little difficult to connect with oswald on some of the teamwork sessions but i didn't have much problem, i give 8/10

Brought up some really good points. I have a soft spot for the original game but it did get really repetitive and a little dull at times. I was hoping that the sequel would sort out those issues and be totally great but I guess it's just a by-the-numbers sequel

Well, the term "good" when referring to a video game or any medium is subjective. You make some excellent points and I agree that this game is held back by many game design flaws. Is this a quality made video game? In a lot of aspects it isn't. Is it a GOOD game? well, I think so.The point I'm trying to make is that numerous issues with mechanics and game design don't keep it from being a endearing experience. But like I said good is subjective and I understand this game isn't for everyone.

yeah i heard from alot of people that frame rate is a huge issue. Its so bad a some points that it drops down to like 12 frames which is horrendous for a next gen console , esp one that was to help with the Wii U

i played the demo, and honestly, this game still doesn't seem half that bad... i had problems with the first one considering that the controls and camera angles are HELL, but now that it's on ps3 this game feels way more then awesome in comparison. and yes, you CAN lock on to enemies, but not too sure if you can change your camera sensitivity... although some of the things she says seems true i still think this game deserves a chance.

Review is factual to a degree, but mainly opinion. A camera sitting too low for one reviewer may be perfect for another for example. It all depends on how you want your game. Of course, if a game runs slow, doesn't look as good as it could or things of that matter, that's factual, but someone could find charm in it.

There's plenty wrong here. It's less of problems with mechanics. It's not that the game feels repetitive or boring. It's that the game feels very much broken and difficult for all the wrong reasons. I was so excited for this game, but it was an immense letdown. The story and presentation are all fantastic, and I'm a huge Disney fan so I eat this stuff up, but it's hard to enjoy it when the gameplay is in the way.

Actually, the graphics are quite nice, but they're meant to look simplistic, after all you're supposed to feel like you're in a Disney cartoon/movie. I played the demo AND Epic Mickey 1 and not once I saw bad graphics in the games.

I never had a problem with the camera in the first Wii game and i see they have reviewed the 360 or PS3 version this game series was designed for the Wii not those consoles and it works better with the Wii remote they should have reviewed the Wii U version

I liked the original, and I'll like this. its mostly cause I love disney, and seeing Oswald makes me smile, if you know his story, its not a bad game at least, its put together well, the controls could be better, cause it was a wii exclusive 1st, and its still using the "wii pointer" even on a PS3/Xbawx version as for Wii U's If it uses the gamepad, and the touch screen I.E. Kid Icarus style, I won't bitch but even so, you're mostly going to enjoy what you can.

the ps3 version is not as you call it, you can still use the ps move which is more like the wiimote then anything else plus the developers said that due to the release on ps3 and 360 they fix the broken camera that seen on the first game on wii, so it would run well with analog sticks, the wii version is the standard as ps3 / 360 / Wii U and PC were the HD version's with kinda more visuals appealing and shadows.

This series has all the charm but a few pesky issues seem to ruin it. The first one really needed a proper hd release, with voiceovers. The camera is frustrating, and playing it on an emulator reveals how truly amazing the game looks. The work that must have gone into the design is just unreal, what a pitty that it was always trapped behind a gross 480p resolution. I think i will record a video comparison for kicks...

You know what? I honestly don't care what critics think about this. I only read and watch reviews because it's interesting to see other's opinions. Hell, I've seen a few reviewers rave about Epic Mickey 2. And if they give it an average or bad review, who cares? It's each to their own. I very much enjoyed the first one, which only got average reviews, and I'll see what I think of this when I get it for Christmas. :)

I've been playing the hell out of the second game and I love it. The voice acting is great, the humor is enjoyable, and the story is engaging. The only problem I have is that Oswald sometimes gets stuck and I have to wait for him to respawn. Online co-op would have been great

When a game has more cut scene time than actual play time, then it's going to get the ire of many gamers. Just let us play. Don't make us wait 3 minutes every time we approach a new section or challenge.

actually it's past ps2 and is on the level of gamecube and wii graphics which is double the amount. Of course it pales compared to the ps3 and xbox 360.

Yes, but what the reviewer meant is that the game IS supposed to be for kids, or at least that's their main target audience. I completely agree with you about being a gamer (kudos for being a Sly fan BTW), but I think you misinterpreted what she said. In any case, as you said, there's nothing wrong with liking this game, but of course it's not gonna be challenging at all.

I just beat mature zelda type game dark siders 2 and man was that an epic quest, now playing the more less rated game mainly because i am a fan of disney art and its characters. So far enjoying this game and had my 8 year old daughter join right in as oswald and where having a blast. Yes some of the teamwork and platforming sessions good have been more perfected but i didn't have to much to gripe about. I love the artwork, teamwork, the painting and thinning abilities. The world looks colorful

This seems highly disappointing. Epic Mickey in general had so much chance to be a good series, but it ends up falling short, Oh well, at least we still have a good video game series where Mickey shows his badass side: Kingdom Hearts.
