I’ve had such a lovely time here doing my knitting while listening to you chatting! I really smiled when you mentioned my mousiemakes podcast because I had just finished editing and uploading my next episode - and in it, I chat about your podcast!! The issue of fitting into a KZbin “niche” is a tricky one. My podcasts, like yours, are much more than simply craft-based ones and it seems that the mysterious KZbin algorithm doesn’t pick up on channels that have such a variety of content. However, I am happy to have a few lovely, regular viewers - I think we both have a small but perfectly-formed community of like-minded folk! I enjoyed hearing your story, outlining some of the things that your Mum has chatted about in previous episodes. And it’s lovely to hear that you have felt inspired to get back to a bit of piano playing! It was also good to see your video at the end, of the snow (especially the fox!) and the field fire. Thank you for an excellent chinwag! xx

Thanks for your lovely comment and making sense of the KZbin algorithm for me. I agree lovely regular viewers are a joy. What a coincidence - looking forward to watching your episode tomorrow as always.

Hello Penelope … what a great idea to start practising your piano again!! Definitely a very good choice. Do you know that playing a musical instrument is very good for our health? At any age of course, but especially when we get older. It is the perfect work-out for our brain while at the same time training our fine motor skills. So, yes… go visiting your mom and enjoy playing the piano again… maybe one day you can play together with her;.. a four-handed piece. That would be so lovely to watch in your “Chinwag”. Thank you for mentioning me in your video :-) I have the impression that we watch the same podcasts: spa knits and Mousiemakes! It’s so nice to be able to communicate with like minded creative people all over the world. Take care, practise your piano and have a lovely weekend 🌷

I love that suggestion of a four handed piece. Do you have any suggestions of a really simple piece please? I'm sorry I mispronounced your name, I realised afterwards when watching one of your episodes. I agree communicating with others is simply great.

@@penelopeschinwag Hello Penelope, really easy piano duets you will find for example in "Chester's Piano Duets Volume One. Alfred's basic Piano Library Duet book Level 1B has also lovely duets, the primo part is really easy and the secondo part is suitable for someone having already a bit of piano experience, but it is not too difficult. I guess you can find these books online. Looking forward to watching you and your mom playing some piano together. Good luck and enjoy yourself! Have a lovely evening.

Thank you for starting podcasting, I have watched every episode and always look forward to catching up with you on a Saturday. You always have such a great mix of interesting things. Your quilts are beautiful , I can only dream of making something like that, I have started making some small hexagons to join together to see how I get on. Have a lovely week x

Thanks for your support and I know you have stuck with me even though my first attempts were a bit up and down. Shall I, Shan't I! I have decided what I am going to do with my hexagons and will show you next time - we can compare notes!

Thank you , Pene, for your delightful podcast! Helen sent me over and I am glad she did. I really enjoyed the story, well, I enjoyed all of it! As a quilter who uses a machine, I am in awe of your hand stitching. it is absolutely fabulous! Yes, I've dabbled with paper piecing, but haven't gotten very far. I can't believe the quilt on your bed was hand done. Wow! I will be tuning in for more chinwags. Take care🤗

Thanks for joining me. I find the process of hand sewing so relaxing. It takes time but I think the secret is not to be in a rush. Machine quilting is another joy though.

Another wonderful episode and so much care goes into each one! Thank you so much. I, too, sold my piano in down-sizing and then ended up purchasing an electric Yamaha piano that doesn't take up much room. It doesn't get a lot of attention, though. I only got through 3rd grade piano and learning comes more slowlly now. Your video skills seem so good for just picking it up. That was a scary looking fire, seen now, while Canada has over 400 fires our of control and sending smoke over much of the US and heading your way. Our air quality is quite affected so we exercise indoors and use the car for errands. I used the time indoors to make a drawstring project bag from your link. ☺

Oh my goodness, I've just looked on the news and seen all the fires. Please take care. I rewatched this episode and made myself laugh. I kept saying its only a chinwag and then told you a fascinating fact, counselling, a story and the film! Hardly just a chinwag! Hopefully I've got better with my episodes. Thanks for joining me and reconnecting me with my older episodes.

Hi Pene, I am so glad Beverly told me about you podcast. It was such a joy to watch you and hear your “story”. At one time I was a monogamous crafter and laughed when you said you had been a one time crafter as well. Just this morning I picked up my EPP and there you were suddenly with your beautiful quilts and EPP project. I look forward to your upcoming podcasts!

Hi Penelope. I have just found your lovely channel after Helen Mousie makes recommend you. I absolutely loved hearing you talk and sharing such interesting things. Firstly your story was wonderful and reminded me of my mum and maternal grandparents. They lived in Hackney and moved in 1952 to the first new town Stevenage, where many of the family still live today. I thought your descriptions were amazing and I was agape when you said you were put on the bus alone at aged three! Can you believe that. I also loved your section on TA. It touched me as lately I’ve been so overwhelmed and have been trying to feel proud of each achievement however big or small. Can’t wait to now watch your videos from the beginning. Best wishes Sarah 😊

How interesting, the link with Hackney and Stevenage. I started TA in episode 12 and am slowly taking you through the process. I have subscribed to Yarnmugs since the beginning so I feel I know you and have also watched Ali since the beginning too. You have encouraged me to start my vlogs. So thanks for joining me.

I love your Grangmothers Flower Garden. I made a quilt for my bed using that method. Now I’ve started another one , with smaller hexagons. I was told , you have to allow 10 years to make a quilt. But I also knit and crochet.❤️🙏🧶
@penelopeschinwag2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eva, how lovely you share your name with my mum. You can see the finished quilt in episode 39 as it was the first quilt that I decided to have long arm quilted. Flower Garden quilts are very pretty aren't they. Mmh 10 years to make a quilt - well I must be a quick or mad quilter!! Thanks for watching and commenting.

And now you've got at least one subscriber in the USA, Pene! (I live in Tennessee.) I learned about you from Helen's channel, which my dear friend in New Zealand shared with me. Thanks to Helen, Emma has probably already found you, but I'm going to make sure she has and also share your channel with another dear friend (Adriana) in Connecticut. Your episodes are a delight and I look forward to watching more.
