This is one of the best videos I have watched recently. Bathurst 1993 is very special to me. On the eve of the great race that year, I was having a beer with 2 mates at a local Sydney suburban RSL Club. At about 10pm that evening, we were talking about the Great Race and regretting not being there. 5 minutes later were in the car and on our way. Arrived at Mt Panorama at 1:00am and did some soothing circle work in a paddock before sleeping in the front seats. Woke up hours later to my first ever Bathurst 1000. Watched Larry do laps all day in this car and cheered until I had no voice left. My first Bathurst. Legendary car and driver. Great work guys!

Thank you for giving us a look through this window into the past. When Australia had a bit of industry and the sport was manufacturing race machines from cars off the shelf. You and your dad should be very proud of your achievements.

I remember back in the day how highly regarded the name Larry Perkins was and still is for that matter. If P.E built a car for you then you knew it would be second to none. Hats off to you Jack and your Dad for preserving these iconic cars.

I could never stand Holdens, have always been a Ford man to the point where Peter Brock in 1995 refused a ride to the airport in my LTD because it was a Ford, but I always loved and barracked for Larry Perkins. A true champion and gentleman. Thanks Larry.

Wow... just wow. Some beautiful work going on here, thumbs up to all involved in these restorations. The attention to detail is outstanding in every respect. Keep up these videos, they are great... Would be nice to get Larry on a few to explain some in depth technical details as to why he did things his way and what he thought the advantage was at the time. Have a great new years Larry, Jack and family and I really appreciate these videos... :)

A big thank you Jack for doing these youtube videos. I met Larry at Calder in '71 when I was a young teenager pit crewing for Max McGinley who was racing his Vee at the time. Larry and his brother Terry (am I correct it's Terry?) stopped for a chat on the dummy grid. From memory Larry was just back from Europe. Something else I remember from that weekend was Agostini was racing and there was a big promo event with Ago judging Victoria's Beauty Queen or something similar. The girls were told to select a car to sit in and then stand by on the grid for the judging. As they walked into the dummy grid Max said to one of the girls "you're in this one" being Max's Vee. Max and Ago obviously had the same taste in women as she was the one he selected for Victoria's Beauty Queen !! I kept up with Larry's European racing via Racing Car News and the other racing publications at the time, then his career once back home, I always cheered for Larry !! best regards, Geoff Dunstan, Merimbula NSW

As soon as you said the VP had been converted to VR/VS I cringed because I knew how much work would be involved to change them back. I just wish you guys filled in that small seam under the tail lights on the corners. I get it's going back to how it was in 93 but that seam is an eye sore and was something I always wanted to remove when I had a VN SS. Also would love to get some insights into the Holden V8 vs Chev V8. I'm assuming that they went to Chevs due to them being basically a NASCAR engine and thus development was easier because a lot had already been done.
