You don't even need the glitch, Cute Charm in Gen 4 had a borked implementation and forces 125 possible PIDs. Gamefreak when developing Diamond and Pearl used the simpiliest possible implementation to force a pokemon's Gender. It is also why a trainer ID that is exteremly close in value to the Secret ID forces shinies. It would work the same but would never produce shinies.

I've fact checked fact 4 before. And it is actually possible to encounter 2 shiny Pokémon at once. However, it requires that the shiny sparkle animation for the two Pokémon play at different times. This is more than possible in Diamon/Pearl as the animations can be very long or short(notably Buneary in Eterna Forest). However in Platinum, the animations for Pokémon in the regional dex were changed, so the animations tend to end at the same time, making the sparkle animation happen at the same time, glitching and crashing the game.

The only hacking he did was for the sake of saving time. The cute charm glitch is well known and very possible, the changing of the IDs just ensured he didnt spend time resetting for the perfect ID then the cheat to only encounter Spinda again was to save time because he only counted Spinda encounters anyway so those would just waste time.

Technically speaking, this is possible without any of the cheats or modifications though. It just is incredibly rare. I have a game with the Cute Charm glitch, and all I had to do was just time starting the game right to get the right RNG for the necessary IDs, which while very unlikely someone would get the timing right by themselves, is technically not impossible even if not at all likely.

I ended up catching the same patterned spinda in the same day that I caught the other one. It was within two hours of each other that I found the same pattern, which was really crazy for me. I don’t have those patterns anymore because I restarted years ago, but when I saw the same pattern appear in front of me, I had to look it up and turns out it’s almost impossible to find the same same one so I managed to find it within two hours of finding the same pattern, the first time

Some Pokemon in Gen 1 can go instantly from Level 1 to level 100, regardless of experience earned, due to an oversight with their experience levelling type. When they're level 1, they actually show as having negative experience, so getting ANY EXP at all will instantly roll it over to maximum experience, maxing them out to 100...

You can burn a fire type, but it's Gen 1 thing... It's that Tri attack can burn a fire type, paralyzed an electric type, and freeze an ice type, but what's crazy is that Tri attack on Gen 1 can't cause a status to a normal type

The first one would work regardless of your trainer ID when using Cute Charm. Cute Chrarm forces 25 possible values one for each nature for female pokemon and another 100 for male(depends on the Gender ratio and the 1 in 7 males is unused until X and Y) pokemon 2/3 of the time. Any Spinda generated with same using Cute Charm lead will have the same PID which also determines the location of Spinda's Spots. This simple method of generation was likely chosen to A result of this simple method of forcing encounters with a cute charm is that if your Trainer ID and Secret ID are close enough you get shinies very often with hunting for female being easier, Males require one based on gender ratio.

If it's possible to use the single pokemon in a double battle with the two level 100 Blissey, it might be possible to get close, since you can endeavor both pokemon then use swift to knock both out Edit: I think part of why Platinum crashes when you have a double battle encounter with two shinies is that the game can't keep up. Diamond and Pearl are notorious for how slow they are, with platinum having things to make the game appear faster. Basically, I'm thinking the behind the under the hood tweaks to speed up Sinnoh in Platinum might be the cause of the crash because the game is trying to keep the faster speed of platinum but a double shiny battle causes the game to lag to a point of crash, since Diamond/Pearl don't have it. With cheats, the most amount of turns I got through in that battle before it crashed was 2-3 turns.

In the last one, I think it is possible to scape the lock by missing the explosions because red/blue have an error in the code that makes moves with 100 accuracy miss 1 in 255 so that makes it possible to scape, the probability is 8.6 * 10^(-25), not 0 therefore possible.

If it's done to save time and doesn't affect anything else, I think it still should be accepted. They do need to release videos in a timely manner after all. The result will be the same whether he takes ten minutes or three hours, so what's the point? About the Blisseys, it's almost a recreation of an actual system that existed in gen VI, which were the secret bases filled with Blisseys with useless moves to help other trainers level up their mons much faster. By the end of the battle, you were close to lv 100 if not maxed out.

so, for the two shinies crashing the game, I have a retail copy of PT that I got the cute charm glitch going on, and I have video of some crashing and some not when I got double shinies. from my (extremely limited) understanding of the glitch, it seems to summon a specific set of pokemon. the breed is any with a gender, but its ID is limited to a specific list. I think the crash comes from both pokemon having the same ID, and the ones where it didn't crash had different IDs so it could be played normally. granted that's just a theory, but it absolutely works. just...some of the time.

I mean... use burn up, get hit by a pokemon with wil-o-wisp, leave battle and battle the next wild pokemon... burned fire type Also i think the shiny crash is because if you throw two shinies into a battle, one comes out first, has the sparkle, then the second one comes out and has its sparkle (if I remember correctly) but encountering two pokemon together they are both there at the same time, so it confuses itself, only does a sparkle for one of them and then wants to throw out a second sparkle late but it can't. It then tries to add a sparkle to your pokemon, but it can't because it's not shiny (and if it were shiny than it would ad its own sparkle to the mix so it would overflow it onto blissey) so it bugs out its visuals which obviously damages the code. If I am wrong and they come out together, then not crashing for your own pokemon would probably be since they are the last pokemon sent out it can't overflow and so it forgets about it as you continue your turn. Either way since it only did 1 animation, I belive it has something to do with overflowing the animation onto your own pokemon who isn't shiny. Not sure why it only crashes with same species for D/P and crashes every time with Pt (maybe the difference in the coding based on game exclusives) but it's crazy to think that some kid might have gotten so lucky with a double shiny that they got neither because of an error. I mean it's a super rare occurance but you are forced to let one die to get the other, which is already bad, then add cheryl possiblykilling the one that doesn't want to stay in the ball... but you don't even get that satisfaction of "not my fault" because the game just hates you. EDIT: Another comment mentioned it is based on sparkle timing, since in D/P different pokemon have different speeds on their animation so they don't overlap unless they are the same species, but Pt made them all equal in when they end so there is overlap. Mystery solved I guess.

I don't think fact No.3 can even be replicated. I read the Bulbapedia trivia, and it doesn't state whether only one of your pokemon must be on the field or it can be assisted by another pokemon that will faint. But it isn't even possible to start a double battle when you can only bring out one pokemon. So I think it's purely theoretical and they just calculated the possible numbers, but with the in game mechanics you can't even encounter such circumstances. It's also possible that they just miscalculated it.

But what if a fire pokemon encountered another fire pokemon, but with a hotter flame/body than they are "rated" for? Like Charizard high-fiving Magmar. Or anything in the vicinity of Macargo.

In terms of burning fire type pokemon I believe you could also use soak and then will o wisp

I surprised no one pointed out that in pokemon Go at one point you technically can catch multiple spinda of the same pattern not sure if it’s similar now but if I check I’m pretty sure I got a few that are the same. Edit: I goofed, I can’t prove it since I sent my spindas to pokemon home and only have modern day spindas on go but I’ll one day check pokemon home to see if they ain’t change them, and if I remember I’ll return.

I could have told u that encountering 2 shinies crashes your game. In my platinum, I found 2 shiny macargo. In stark mountain. It didn't softlock me though. I just turned it off and back on.

The spinda thing's encounter rate is 50×409,600×50×50 And the second one is shiny OMG The chances are 5,12e10, Which means 512??????? Encounters.

You cant technically get soft locked in any game and that is in part do to pokemon struggling when the pp of a move runs out. I willnot fact check this I just wanted to put this out there.
